Secondly, you should give him a chance. He wasn't ready for the EPL, and like you say was totally out of his depth. But your league is probably more his level at the moment.

Thirdly, you are among the better teams in that league, compared to us that are currently among the worst in ours.

Tonev has a lot of talent, but he needs coaching. He is so incredibly raw.

His main problem is his decision making. A million * shots when he should pass and move etc.

But gl to him and you. I think it's a smart move.

 

Hopefully this deal works out .Just wait for the match threads with people moaning about him shooting on sight .

Thought he was good at Lech Poznan and honestly did believe that he was going to be a star in the EPL however it just wasnt to be. I hope that this is because AVFC didnt give him enough time to settle in and he didnt just turn from a player with huge potential to a dud

 

I'm happy with this, think he'll do well up here. Playing for an attacking team could make a difference.

Loan signings with an option to buy are completely different from just loan deals imo. That way we are getting an extended trial period of a player seeing him play in our league with our players using our managers system and if it works out we take him unlike with normal loan deals were we would basically just be developing someone elses player.

 

I think people are overrating his shooting.

He played in 17 games for Villa and hit 24 shots, its not that much.

 

Considering he only started 6 games, it is.

In all seriousness, £1.5m could be a steal if we can coach some of his flaws out of him. Decent bit of business on the face of it.

 

* it, if he can get them on target, he can shoot at will. Some of our players are needing to take a leaf out of his book.

Albrighton hit 25 shots and he played in 19, only starting 9.

Its like 1 shot everytime he got on the park, sometimes 2. Not like he was shooting 3/4/5/6/7 times everytime he played.

Cristiano Ronaldo hits over 7 shots a game.

 

Looks like he's coming, I was very critical at first (about his choice of going to Villa instead of Celtic, not his ability) but I'm more than willing to give him a chance and I think he'll be a great player. Might not have been ready for EPL but I think he's good enough for Group stage CL games for us.
