Aleksandar Tonev

Discussion in 'World Football' started by SloBhoy, Aug 11, 2014.

  1. He should have been found 'not proven'.

Not Proven - 'Essentially, the judge or jury is unconvinced that the suspect is innocent, but has insufficient evidence to the contrary.'

  2. If anything it's maybe arrogance that's got him into this. It's about attitude and if you allow yourself to get dragged into talking to players on the pitch you're not focusing on the game and that's about some bullshit arrogance and attitude if you can see maybe beyond the controversy surrounding a player on loan, who has barely started three games in the league. In that regard it gives him something to consider about showing a different side on the pitch and that's about ripping the pish out of defenders in terms of making goals as opposed to stupid comments that in this case has backfired in a big way.

  3. What was Leigh Griffiths punishment again??

  4. Hes a footballer this could severly damage his career so I couldn't imagine him not fighting this all way to the CAS if he had to,if he knee he hadn't done it.

  5. There is no proof he did do it. Whether he done it or not he should be found not guilty judging of the evidence or the lack of it. How does accepting the punishment prove guilt. I see no reason why if he was guilty he would not try to remove the stain from his character.

  6. The players ability shouldn't even come into the debate.

  7. The debate of guilty not guilty yes

The debate to keep him or not after hes been found guilty it does.

  8. Not for me it doesn't. Would you be happy to have a racist at your club, purely because he was a good player?

  9. Not a bother on me if he scores goals, would do more good than bad for the club.

  10. No he's not. Tonev has been punished with no proof other than that of the mere word of another player. That's not proof...it's an unsubstantiated allegation.

  11. Let's be honest here. Yes, there are no evidence that he did. We know it, *, even the SFA knows it. But we also know why they had to do this, why they had to "found him guilty". Deep inside we all know!
And no - a 24 year old from Bulgaria is not going to dare to go against the SFA (or any FA for that matter), the press and all other * hungry for a "witch-hunt".

  12. Yes.. we all know he said it. :50:

    :97:

  13. It's an unfair system that he has been found guilty, you and me both know it. Like I've said in my other post probability can be challaged unlike in this system that our league operate in.

It's all came down to one mans work against another, and in this day and age it seems to me when a black or different coloured individual pulls the race cards it's made a massive deal of and if in fact there is 100% proof and sufficent evidence then yes they should be punished but like others have said no cameras have picked it up nor other players so the use of probability by the person who used the numbers have calculated it based on a guys ability to speak better English than the other because there is no other evidence.

For me the use of probabilities can be challaged like I've pointed out in the R Vs T footwear case it will just be up to the club and the player if they want to challage it, it's a unique case because of the circumstances with it all.

  14. shay logan isnt going to make up a dangerous accusation as been racially abused by a fellow professional is he? Why would he?

I'm all for defending any celtic player, but when the player clearly hears it and is offended by it, why are we pretending that tonev is innocent?

Yeah you can say its his word against the others.. but at the end of the day, logan obviously heard it, and reported it. There's no defence for that on tonev's part.

  15. You called me a southern * yesterday in PM mate so I don't know why you're acting so high and mighty.

  16. You can have the exact same about the opposite argument, that's the problem, why would Tonev racially abuse someone when he know's it will end up in a * storm and a heavy ban for him? He isn't going to racially abuse a fellow professional is he? Why would he?

  17. Yeah so logan made it all up. Just to hurt the player and ban him.

    :s:

  18. Look, none of that matters. The fact is, there is no evidence besides his word that it happened. To simply go on that is ridiculous.

  19. Maybe he just doesn't like Bulgarians.

There's no evidence either way, it's one mans word against another.

I'm not saying Logan made it up but it's not exactly unknown for people to claim racist abuse when there has been none. Again, it's common for people to be racially abused.

Was it not Kyle Bartley who accused Neil Lennon of racially abusing him?
