The SFA have opened the most almighty can of worms with 1 ban.

What a shower of inept, clueless, clowns they are. We wonder why Scottish football is in the doldrums? What chance do you have when players aren't allowed to earn a living because the governing body takes someone's word of another and bans you from doing so? How can Celtic attract footballers to this Club in these circumstances?

Thankfully the Club have reacted instantly and will take this straight to CAS.

    Unbelievable decision.

So far I've not heard a peep out of Tonev to suggest he is racist or even an angry guy.

Logan has been proven to be unable to control his temper and had previously been quilt of abusing officials.

So where do you draw the line with probability?

Celtic and Tonev better not let this drop.

Whoever writes our club statements is on fire this season.

CELTIC Football Club is extremely disappointed by the outcome of the Scottish FA’s Appeal Tribunal.

We do not consider that any player should be found guilty of such a grave offence on the basis of the evidence presented in this case. Celtic Football Club will be approaching the Scottish FA to seek to address this issue.

We would like to make it clear that at no stage was it ever suggested that Shay Logan had made any false allegations. However, Aleksandar Tonev’s position consistently has been that he did not say the words that were alleged to have been said and that he is not a racist. Celtic Football Club has enjoyed an excellent relationship with Aberdeen Football Club and this, of course, will continue.

As we have said many times before, racism has no place in football and as a Club which has been open to all ever since its formation in 1888, Celtic abhors racism of any kind.

Clearly, Aleksandar continues to have our full support.

@STVGrant: Tonev was clear that he had not used the phrase ‘black c***’ during the match.

@STVGrant: "Tonev stated that he did not know what the word ‘c***’ meant and denied ever saying it."

@STVGrant: "In cross examination Mr. Madden confirmed that he had not heard the
    conversation between the players."

@STVGrant: Tonev in his evidence did not offer any alternative explanation for what he may have said. He simply denied saying "black c***".

@STVGrant: Decision: "In this situation... it is not a question of deciding which on balance is the more likely version."

@STVGrant: Decision: "Body making the determination must be satisfied that it is more likely than not the act of misconduct alleged committed."

@STVGrant: Decision: "Crucial finding in case was finding Logan was not only a credible witness but more particularly he was also a reliable witness."

Tonev found guilty, essentially on the basis that a native English-speaker gave better evidence than a Bulgarian with his livelihood on the line.

They are effectively calling Tonev a liar when Tonev says he didn't know what * meant. With 0 evidence.

@STVGrant: Aberdeen QC: "The only challenge to Logan’s account had been that he was mistaken as to the words used." Aberdeen QC: "case was simple and straightforward, invited the Appellate Tribunal to apply common sense and their experience of football."

@STVGrant: Celtic QC: "Even after the Tribunal had found Logan to be a credible and
reliable witness, a number of questions remained to be addressed." "Fact that the appellant is Bulgarian and English not his first language, & the unusual & improbable nature of the complaint." "such as how the weather conditions may have affected Logan’s ability to hear what was said..."more serious the allegation... the greater is burden of evidence required to prove it on the balance of probabilities."

Taking the fact that Tonev is a Celtic play out of the equation for a minute, I have to say how shocked I am that the word of one person is deemed enough to potentially destroy a persons career and personal life.

    Absolutely terrifying to be honest.

I have no doubt this will get taken further and tonev found not guilty, the above tweets are suggesting weather effects, language etc,im pretty sure if its taken outwith the disgraced SFA then it will be dealt with properly.

Just show these * up,we have seen it all before with dougiegate scandal and the sevco licence approval

@STVGrant: Logan said Tonev said: "Don’t touch me you black c***". The tribunal ruled Tonev said: "Get your hands off me you black c***".

@STVGrant: A correction. Tonev said he said to Logan: "get your hands off me". He then denied adding on to that "black c***".

@STVGrant: He contested both. That he was not a racist, and that he did not know the second word, although he later said he did know it.
