I'm confused. I was of the the understanding there was no TV evidence and no officials around to hear what was said.

My question is how they can issue that kind of punishment as it's one players word against the others. If I'm wrong or way off then fair enough but I just want this cleared up as it seems strange if so.

Find a lot of posters with the opinion, he's not very good so he can get to *. That's hardly the issue or response we should project as Celtic fans. The fact is, if he said it and is guilty. He Is being racist and should be shown the door. Or, if he's innocent. It's a guys career FFS. Throw mud and it sticks. If there is no evidence and Tonev denies the charge the club should back him. Same story if it was Commons, Broony or big Guidetti. All in all racism should not be tolerated by our club!

100% agree. The ban itself is extreme when so far as we know not one shred of evidence exists. Since when did the say so of one person constitute proof of guilt?

I don't see what Logan would gain from making up that Tonev made a racist remark. I'm not saying it's beyond reason that he could or would, and I understand people aren't all 'wired' the same, but I guess I just want to think of people as generally honest.
Might be a bit naive of me considering they're professional footballers and you see week-in-week-out all the play acting.

Why do wee tarts shout 'rape' all the time? Why do folk lie under oath all the time? Why is the World a weird and * up place?

It is not outwith the realms of possibility on a football field for some eejit to make up a lot of *. Laugherty dropping to the floor after being 'assaulted' by Charles instantly jumps to mind.

False rape accusations normally have an end gain - child custody, money, * you to an ex, etc.
Lafferty gaining an advantage for the team i can understand.

I'm not sure what Logan gains by making the accusation post-match.

I'm pretty sure he was trying to get tonev sent off, that was the gain :50:

He kept moaning to the ref so was always gonna carry on post match..

No if he's found innocent he should sue Logan.
Now I have no time for racism, but I find this decision very strange unless the SFA has more evidence, though as another poster said, you would think Celtic would know of any evidence,if there was.
About 4 weeks ago the quarter back of the New York Jets got into a shouting match with a fan,he was seen and heard on video telling the fan,"* you",when asked by reporters why he cursed out the guy,he said that the fan had racially abused him.
Within a week he apologized for his actions, but there was no other talk about been "racially abused".
Not sticking up for Tonev (for as far as I'm concerned he can go back to Villa racist or not, cause the * useless),but as much as I have no time for racism,I hate * that play the racist card to suit themselves, or to justify themselves, when there was no racism involved.

Have you had some extra evidence not available to the rest of us?

It's just as unfair to speculate that Logan made it up that it is to speculate that Tonev actually said something inappropriate.
It is quite conceivable (although again speculative) that Logan thought (misinterpreted) what Tonev actually said - given accent possibly.

What is inconceivable is that, regardless of whether something was said or not (and I'm not condoning 'getting away something' if it was) that anyone can be found guilty on one person's word vs another with no other clear supporting evidence (witness, video, audio etc). That goes against a fundamental foundation cornerstone principle of Scots Law. I said at the time, I feel sorry for the innocent party in all of this, as it was always going to be very difficult to prove who was telling the truth. When I first heard the decision, I immediately wanted him gone, as I thought there must be concrete evidence to find him guilty, but it appears the whole decision has been based on Logan's word. My gut feeling is that Tonev has abused Logan, but how he has been found guilty, is anyone's guess.
