    What does it matter if it's a loan deal with an option to buy or a straight out purchase?

    We loan him, it doesn't work out, we don't lose anything.
    We loan him, it does work out, we buy him.
    We buy hum, it does work out, we're in the same position as above.
    We buy him, it doesn't work out, we're *.

    Surely it's sensible to opt for the loan move with the option to buy, no? :smiley-laughing002:

    I don't agree. If that was the case then most transfers would be conducted that way. It shows more commitment from the player and the club if a permanent deal is signed.

    If they have the 'option to buy' then why haven't they bought him now? Do they have doubts about him as a player?? Or are they not sure Deila will be here a year from now so don't want to commit to spending money on players he wants???

    Ach I dunno. I wouldn't trust the board as far as I could kick them anymore. It'll take a lot more than a loan signing to win me round again.

    Welcome to Celtic! With Forrest and Boerrigter being injury prone we do need a reliable quick winger because we seriously lack some pace in the side.

    Tonev on one flank with McGregor on the other.

    Since this is before the deadline we can still sign and add one more player before next wednesday. Lets hope its a striker because we need one badly.

    Does this option to buy mean that nothing can stop Celtic from signing him?

    Surely if he performs brilliantly Aston Villa will just offer him an improved contract?

    Nope. We have first refusal on him now. Aston Villa can't * us about if he has a great season. Obviously we'd have to agree terms with the player.
