    I have no feelings regarding Villa whatsoever, but their spend isn't as inconsiderable as you might think.

    Their net spend since 06/07 is £92 million - the 4th highest in England, ahead of Manchester United.

    Their wage bill this year is the 7th highest at £70 million; their turnover is 9th highest so that is maybe fair enough, until you take their league position into it.

    Trust me, thats not even that bad! I got banned from a juventus forum after going on to ask how many fans they thought they would take to parkhead. I got a lifelong ban after 3 posts or so for 'Supporting terrorism and child molestation':31:

    And just to clarify, I didn't say anything about child molestation or terrorism, just that I was a celtic fan :38:

    What do people expect on those forums? English fans collectively make up the biggest * in football. They are renowned for being that way. Anywhere in the world outwith the UK, Celtic are obviously bigger than Villa, Norwich, Fulham etc. But inside the UK they're 'just an SPL team'.

    I saw that 'joke club' comment too... I don't know any celtic fan who would call even the likes of Barnsley or Bradford a 'joke club', let alone one of the most successful, best supported traditional clubs like celtic. The ignorance and arrogance of some English fans is just best left ignored imo.:celt_2:

    Why people care what fans of English teams think is beyond me. We all know the English are incapable of looking at anything objectively when it involves their country.

    What sort of gates do Villa pull in the 'best league in the world' anyway? I'd imagine we at least match them and in supposedly a * one horse race league.

    If this guy goes to Villa, after his talk of wanting Champs League football, it will be for purely financial reasons.
