Commons reminds me of thommo cos he is also a hunskelper who pops up with good goals against them

We've been blessed with a lot of great players with fantastic left foots in recent years, considering how rare it is to come across a player with a great left peg.

Thommo, Naka, Lubo (who could play with both feet and was an utter genius, as we all know), Commons and Mulgrew. That's only five and they've all played their part for Celtic in the last 10-12 years.

Thompson definitely still has it though. Practice or not, any keeper in the world would have been lucky to save that strike, such was the ferocity and accuracy of it.

Not sayin for a minute any of you guys were on his back but do you mind it happening towards the end? Was a disgrace some of the stuff coming from the stands aimed at him....happens with most players I suppose but some don't deserve it. He was one of them...always gave 100%

6 efforts before him and not one goal then he just sends it home :56:

I was raging with the way things ended with a good few of our players under GS, namely Thommo and Sutton. 2 of our best players. Fair enough they were our top earners but they deserved better.

Absolute cracker of a strike from Thommo, just goes to show class is permanent.

Aye, to be honest I was one of them, he was done in O'Neill's last season and Strachans first season but must have played about 30 games whist being finished. I never booed him or anything though I was only about 15 but I never wanted him playing, was the same with Lambert for me too, they were playing when they shouldnt have been even though they were once top drawer. I also thought the same about big Jan too at the end and Hartley.

I remember Thommo scored a double in a game though and held his hand to his ear at both goals :56: as we werent raging then.

Think thats only natural and happens everywhere. I even remember Giggs was getting pelters about 4/5 years ago and then a season later he was POTY down there and is still playing.

Thompson was on the decline, Jan completely lost his legs after injuries and Hartley was just done at the top level but Lambo? Not a chance, he was still oozing class until his last game. He left at the right time.

Played half an hour in a friendly. Remember watching it. He was * and got hooked at half time.

Definatly one of my favourite players from the MON era.
