Not a great result tonight but by no means a big deal. We have two more games to get up to speed before the CL games against Helsinki.

    Yes I do rate experience.

If it were a toss up some years ago between Hiddink, Trappatoni and Guardiola, there is one man I would have dismissed instantly. Guardiola.

I would have been wrong. I don;t always get it right.....just most of the time...:56:

we have just witnessed Celtic at there best there can they improve i don't think so
a friendly they say well OK lets have a look at it then, out of the 90min what did we actually do here did we have a chance at goal with a good bit of possession play nope. did we at any time control the game nope, did we at any time have more than 2 players in attack nope, did we have any one attack a corner nope, how many did we allow in our box, I counted 5 attackers where was the middle of the parks defenders, what did they do to stop the rot nothing. where do we go from here not very far where Europe is concerned, there are players here just not good enough, and never will improve our team sad as it is, but the spl at a push is about achievable. this will end the same way as last year any team we meet in a cup game will worry us out of it. and should any manager, in the spl find just 2 gems of players we will suffer from it as there was not that much between us and them at times, my tip for the year Aberdeen one to watch.

    well said that man

to be fair Sean, I sometimes dont agree with you on the political stuff.

but you are right with your comment about the 90's. most of the plastic fans ranting and raving about a pre-season friendly, need to have a good look at themselves.

there are some ridiculous reactions to a game, where the purpose is to try out formations, players, get match practice and prepare for the forthcoming competitive games.

Not most of the time, it shows your mistaken thinking, because if guardiola had been at a * team he would have been punted

A lot of fans saying its just a friendly, it doesn't matter. So if we take away the competitive side of the game and look at fitness which is what pre season games are about then where are we?

To me we look sluggish and lazy frankly. 2 games before Helsinki and 2 games is not a lot to get up to full speed which we will need to be at because Helsinki are 15 games into their season.

On top of that i don't know how many more games Ajax have played than us, read earlier its only 1, if so that is disturbing because bar 2/3 players it was a B team and we had 10 players out there that are sure starters in most games. This was a game against good european class opposition that was supposed to be used to gauge how we might do in europe. Judging by the shambles i watched earlier we could be in for a shock.

Lets hope the players sharpen up, get fit and make sure they try 100% against Helsinki from minute one because we cannot do our usual and start slow or we could be an away goal behind.

i had to reply to my own post ffs what is it like , as i said above if our team is 2 games away from fitness and game play in europe we will be a laughing stock getting humped by a team from helsinki jeeeesus what have we done to our football here we have no technical ability , no tactical awareness what is our manager doing with the players when he gets them in for training they look a shoddy outfit not well versed in tactics and certainly not fit

is this what we are reduced to? everybody up in arms over a friendly defeat? it's not the end of this team! remember last season, remember how the players turned everything around, remember how lenny got the players up for it, remember what good football we played in europe, they are the same players, the same manager i just wish we were the same supporters

i think its the usual ,we are promised so much, but have so little , we are about 10 years behind a lot of the teams and that is counting icelandic finnish teams with technical ability and why because we wont invest in the sport here as it is not great business in scotland

we are all in this together ferry m8 its not all about being reduced to this and that it is just a warning and notification to us all that we are truly being left behind by other countries in the skill of football m8 , and remember every game is there to be won , we werent at the races tonite we could have played for 360 minutes and wouldnt have created a chance , it does sadden me to say that m8 really it does

Never knew TC had so many Mystic Megs all able to predict the future with so much certainty.

Any chance one of you can give me the Lottery numbers for next Friday also?

Seriously though although it is always disappointing to lose any friendly no matter what the opposition the time to judge players performances are when the games actually mean something. So if you don't mind I'll hold off with the severe criticism until after we've actually gone and lost a meaningful game.
