cant understand people's logic on this , hes our top scoring midfielder and hes got the most assists in our whole team , but some folk still want him out , and for christs sake come up with a better excuse than ' he dosent perform against rangers ' , old firm games arent our only big games

)Mcgeady is our most effective player in theory and in practice and we can't afford better.

As someone said the timing of yet another mcgeady thread is a bit off.

It just seems like people are waiting for the least dip in form to jump on, He wasn't even among the worst on the pitch so i'm very disappointed in some of our support.

Let me say first off he was rotten on Tuesday, I don't think anyone can say otherwise. He looked a yard off the pace and the huns nullified him pretty effectively.

Having said that, he has been one of our best players by far during the Lenny resurgence and to me is still our most consistent midfielder this season by a mile.

The guy can take the whole game up the pitch in a flash with one lung-bursting run. He can make full-backs look silly with some of his skills and while I accept shooting isn't his strength, I think every time he hits the byeline the ball goes in the box. I wonder how much his assist rate would go up if Henrik and Hartson were still in there waiting to get on the end of it.

He can play on either side and is comfortable on both feet. He can get kicked up and down the pitch and will still look for the ball.

No one is saying the guy is world-class or perfect, but he is a guy that can make things happen where other players can't.

I reckon he'll be gone this summer. It will be a sad day for me.

Good post mate, it will be a hard call, and il be honest, if Lennon stays next year, I think Lenny would keep him, or try keep him, he's been very complimantry about McGeady in the past, so I dont know.

Money talks though bud, and I think that will be the deciding factor.[/QUOTE]

Yeah, agree I think Lenny will do everything in his power to keep him, like you say its all about money at the end of the day

i dont think he played well on tuesday but he still did a fair shift. he didnt shirk his defensive duty, he never hid always lookin for the ball and put the boot in once or twice as well. we would all love to see him skinning guys at a time then putting in inch perfect ball into box but when you have 3 guys to beat at a time it not as simple as it sounds. he is still our best player by a mile

Don't insinuate other posters are huns just because you don't agree with them, also don't use text speech.

    Don't post off topic comments.

I honestly think he would struggle in the EPL as well mate, and also think that the Championship is a decent level, as you will well know with Blackpool mate.

Its all about opinions dude, and he may well go down there and run a mock, you know, but i doubt it mate!

I think he'd do great in the EPL,he would'nt be playing against ten men defences most weeks and your afforded more space down there. As for the championship I find it very interesting that a lot of run of the mill SPL players have went there and done very well for themselves.Guys like Adam,Burke,Wallace,Crainey,McCormack,Dorrans and more have all proved to be top players in that division.

We need more creative players, not selling our only one.

Aye Tim he'd be great in the EPL - when we play more open games (like in Europe) we really see his worth.

He get's the ball and only has 1 full-back to beat before whipping in a cross, with a lot of room to play into and attack. In Scotland he's generally double marked or more by teams playing exclusively in their own third.

Inter against Barca, Inter pretty much played in their own third and what are the flashy guys supposed to do? They have 2-3 guys to get past at least. Guys like McGeady are hard-done by in Scotland although that's not an excuse for when he does genuinely play badly.

:97: I think McGeady is decidedly average in Europe the majority of the time.

I don't understand why Mcgeady gets slated from the fans at games. He's not been performing too well this season, but he's still our best player - his control and speed stand out in every game. His final ball isn't the most consistent, but he's still knocked in a * load of good balls for fortune to somehow miss.
