    Thanks mate

I would say Im maybe in the minority regarding Aiden, but the fact of the matter is, someone began a thread on the boy, people have a differing of opinions, so lets debate it.

I aologise to anyone if I come over a little strong, I truly dont mean to, sometimes it seems more harsh in writing ehh....!

But lets debate, its great to gauge opinions, and i have had my head turned many a time on this forum, and had me opinion change on many subjects regarding Celtic etc....

That's how I enjoy this forum most of all celtic forums, it seems to have an educated support behind most posts....

I don't think you are in the minority regarding Aidan, i honestly think it is equally split down the middle! I am with you though, the boy has made no improvement in a few years after having so much potential and is a really frustrating player! If we get offered 'silly money' for him, which imo is about £6m+ then we have to take it! A winger with a rare end product...

I've constantly argued about Aiden in the stands, pubs etc.
I can see a good footballer in there, but I think, personally, he needs a new challenge.
A couple of seasons ago, he helped Celtic to the title and McDonald to 30 + goals, but that now seems to be a distant memory.
I actually think he is now more frightened to do things on the pitch because the vitriol he receives from the stands (especially from the North Stand) would make any footballer question himself.
Real Madrid have a similar footballer called Guti, who is still classed as the next great thing, even now at 33.
Sometimes he is sublime, other to,es a passenger that you have to carry.
You can stick around for too long in football, but a change would benefit McGeady's game and if he's eager to test himself, then he should go - belief in ones own ability or slippers and comfy chair??
I actually think he may end up like Liam Millar, who was a decent footballer He needed another couple of years at Celtic, before going to Man Utd, but unfortunately his talent wasn't as good as his ego allowed him.
Am I the only one who thinks Aiden's best position is playing off the front man??

    Hail Hail

I think he would be better there because quite frankly, he can't cross a ball and he's a supposed winger, however i think a fit Maloney (i know that is hard to come by) would be far superior there because he can shoot and has a better eye for a pass than Aidan!

McGeady annoys me, but not because I think he's a waste of space, but because he is so nearly the final product. I don't know what they hone in on with McGeady in training but a good one on one manager i.e. Ferguson would have him breaking in from the wing and aiming for the top right corner time and time again till he got it right as he does it so often there's enough footage of him performing this play for yet another half hearted Celtic DVD to hit the shops. They could call it "And it's just over the bar!"

i'll agree with that. I have slated McGeady in this article and gave my reasons why but the one game where he was decent against Rangers in any of the ones he has played in was last year's co-op cup final and he played jsut off the frontman that day

Does nobody think that we could really miss him should we sell him in the summer? McGeady is very frustrating, he is very much hot and cold but when he is hot he is red hot, when he is cold he is freezing his bollocks off! Last Saturday was McGeady at his best, put in some decent balls and got a great assist for O'Dea's goal, scored a great goal, played well overall. Then came the old firm game, when the stage was set for McGeady he failed to deliver the goods, couldnt beat a man, (Was doubled up but good players should be able to deal with this) never got in the game, final ball was crap, failed to deliver and only positive from his game was his part in the red card. McGeady form is a real problem, but can we afford to let him go? He will put in some great perforamances next season should he stay but the next week he goes missing completely. No footballer is going to play superb week in week out but McGeady is so hyped up by us that when he gets the ball he is expected to do magic with it, putting huge pressure on the lad. I honestly dont know with McGeady anymore, if sold we could seriously regret it but we cant afford to carry him anymore, tough call for a manager when a player has such talent but fails to produce on a regular basis, It seems this thread is completely split down the middle, it cant be a easy decision for Lenny to make should he stay on as manager.

How many times though Danni.... ??? If we're not * we're talking bullshit, and if we're not talking billshite we're huns... Its * tiresome and hard to ignore....!

Good post mate, it will be a hard call, and il be honest, if Lennon stays next year, I think Lenny would keep him, or try keep him, he's been very complimantry about McGeady in the past, so I dont know.

Money talks though bud, and I think that will be the deciding factor.

If you don't like what another member posts either ignore it or report the offending post. Do not take the thread off course by getting involved in personal spats.

how about actually contributing something worthwhile to the debate. The purpose of the thread was to guage opinion on whether people agreed that McGeady was poor or whether they felt he was good. It's all about opinions and if expressing my opinion makes me a 'moany *' then so be it as this is a football forum for debating and expressing an opinion to see what other people believe

Well would you look who's popped up again.

Seems like everytime I come on this forum you turn up looking for an argument.
The reason the last post was short and too the point is because I've said all I have to say on the subject in earlier threads and this one. Unlike some I don't have the time to spend all day continually repeating myself.

I'd like to point out to all mods i'm not doing anything to provoke this guy his apparent obsession is nothing to do with me. :50:

VIPER for the love of * stop being so wound up about a faceless name on an internet forum and if you can't do that stop quoting me. :97:
