I'm pretty sure he was nearing the end of his contract when he was sold to Everton, hence the low price.

Besides it's all irrelevant how he has played in other leagues because we already know what he can do in our league

 

Last 5 months of his contract and he wanted to go, I'm sure they still got £4m for him.

They wanted £27m when he had a decent amount left in his contract.

Not really true he had a falling out in Russia with the manager I think then signed a pre-contract with Everton. At that point they were just looking to get some sort of return instead of losing him for nothing.

you acknowledge that his record for us was good, but that he was a failure at spartak....when his record at spartak was arguably better than when he played for us. not to mention in a higher standard league against tougher opposition.

Week in Week out ,we were relying on him to carry the team.

If the option arises to sign him.

You have to ask yourself, Does the player have qualities which will help improve the team??

He never failed in Russia. In Russia they do end of season awards called the "Top 33" which is basically 3 teams of players, the best 11, 2nd best 11 and 3rd best 11. In his first 2 seasons he made the 2nd best 11 meaning he was 2nd best in his position. In his 2nd two seasons he missed half the season with injury and then he left half way through the last.

Why is everyone debating on what he can bring us lol. He played here for long enough and everyone should know his strengths/weaknesses. He is a player who could be creative in Europe and that's the main thing. Forget the league, we'll win it even if we don't sign anyone

 

I find it laughable that anyone can even suggest he wouldn't be a worthwhile signing. I'd love to have him back. He's a great entertainer, a huge Celtic fan and can make a big difference on European nights, plus he's available on the cheap...it's a no brainer!

 

Just saw on a facebook football transfer page that we have had a bid accepted for mcgeady 2.1mil.. as i said could be garbage guys
