Maybe you are "in the know" so to speak, but it isn't hard when the guy came out and said a few days ago he can't see himself going there.

 

the offer from moscow suits all parties. for celtic it sets the price about £9 or £10m. thats what all others must bid for him now also. likewise for aiden. they will offer him a lucrative contract out there which sets out what other teams will have to match or get close to. by him going out there it also alerts the other teams who are interested in him therefor hoping that they hurry up and bid for him as both aiden and celtic want him sold asap.

I'd be suprised if he wasn't at least considering the prospect of signing for Spartak considering he is on a flight over there today. Sure, he may well very not "want" to play in Russia but when you are offered silly money and there are a lack of alternatives you'd be surprised at what he may do

 

Right okay then i could buy into that....as i HAVE said, his preferred move is to EPL via Villa etc.. But, should this move fail to materialize whatever reason, then there IS a strong chance that he would go to Russia(just because he said" I cant see myself going" isn't the be all and end all).

 

might not be the 'be all and end all' but it is the mindset that he has going over to there and he also might be saying that to prompt Villa.

i.e. "I don't see myself in Russia but i do at Villa"

For sure mate...but what happens if Villa don't sell Milner? Then surely thats his chances of a move to Villa off? If that happens then the only other bid he has is from Russia(megabucks deal).

Thats his choice..but i think Celtic would be giving him a little nudge in that direction, as I dont think any other clubs would even consider making offers in the same region.

 

i think they are directing him as well because he has travelled despite saying he doesn't see it.

 

I believe he is flying to russia to assess all his options and to generate interest elsewhere....make others stand up and make a bid.....imo he has NO interest in moving to Russia...much like Sol, James and perhaps bullard werent interested in coming to celtic..

 

I know 10 million would be fantastic but if it is the case that he is getting hounded out, it aint good. Despite his imperfections.

If villa bid less and he wants to go its likely he will go for less than £9-£10m...maybe £8mish

 

Indeed Roslea. Russia is not his preffered move but not even Aiden McGeady himself can truly say he is NOT making a transfer there imo.

 

Exactly, what happens if this doesn't come about, then on deadline day we get offered 7.5 or 8, do we take it ?
