I know I wouldn't be going if I were McGeady. Regardless of what they were offering.

I do think it's time he moved on though as we've been waiting for him to learn how to cross, pass and shoot for years now with very little evidence of it actually happening. So if Spartak are the ones with the cash and he's willing to go, then get it done quickly so the money brought in can be spent on the team.

 

Today russian sport newspaper mentioned that McGeady will be visiting today Moscow to see clubs infrastructure and city in whole. So I guess most probably tommorrow we will know the result.

Sorry but article says during next few days, not exactly today as I wrote before. It also says McGeady, his girlfriend and his agent will be visiting Moscow and it mentions that financial side of the contract is setled.

I'd be off to Moscow like a shot. Brilliant place. Was there a few cold February's ago. He'll be well looked after over there.

 

I genuinely don't think McGeady wants to go to Russia or it would have happened a long time ago.

I am now resigned to the fact that he is almost on his way out the door. A decision I don’t think is fuelled solely by him. The club are looking to rub their hands in the deal that it is going to bring them.

So take your 9 mil, how long will it last, by the end of the year you will have a weaker squad and no extra money.

The board have a cheek telling us that it has to be done to balance the books. How naive some of us are to believe that crap.

You get what you pay for, if it is crap quality then it doesn’t last long, or more to the point, it is not good enough to match up to the competition.

I hope he goes and really dont care if he ruins his career by going to russia, were getting nearly 10 Million for a player who is way overrated and can be replaced easily

Selling McGeady will make us better. I think we already have some funds left to buy a new CB, LB and a GK. So McGeady's transfer could be used to get us a new number 7. So as a team we will be stronger without him and we really won't miss him. It would be nice to see a more tricky player brought in if he does leave though as Maloney and McCourt's fitness are both suspect. However Forrest looks the part. Barrera would have been ideal but obviously he's not an option now, somebody suggested Chung-Yong Lee? Great shout but i think he would maybe cost too much.

 

4mill could the trick for Chung-Yong Lee I feel, even then it still frees up money still to say get Mcfadden as an example and get a LB and GK and a good standard CB that can all be done for 12mill which about 9.5 will come from the sale of Aiden and the rest celtic can fund as techincally they aint really spent much anyway

 

Is McGeady saying hes travelling to Russia to make some Premier Leauge clubs put a bid in for him ??

 

£8m in his pocket after 4 years he'll be mad not to go,nobody else wants him cause he's a one trick pony who has no end product imo.

celtic fans are no idiots i'm sure most will agree we just enjoy straight talking blunt honesty so for example i'm sure we'd respect lenny even more if he just came out and said "we are looking at selling Aiden as he can bring the club a good amount of money and I want that to further develope my plan for the sqaud and buy in some qaulity players".

TBH i wouldn't have took lenny as one to * around thise issue and thought he would have said it straight considering were talking about a player he almost beat the shyte out of once during a game lol
