Aiden McGeady,Merged.

how can you say the players that have been brought in arent any good, youve seen 1 game. Plus ledley will benefit the team twice as much as mcgeady since he can actually put a decent cross into the box unlike aiden. hooper will score goals MORE THAN AIDEN ANYWAY. so there is two players that will give more to the team than aiden, we're lucky to be getting the amount of moeny reported, since in reality hees only worth 5-6mill max.

 

so thats ok then, in a few years we might be alright. im sick of hearing this potential bollocks

all we ever do is buy reserve and under 19 players because they have this "potential", we should be winning the champions league in a few seasons, and we never see any of them doing anything good and never hear of them again.

if we are going to sell our best players, why are we not buying players that are good now to replace them, are we just going to wait for a few seasons hoping that some of them turn out decent and in the mean time just make do with the * that shouldnt be wearing the hoops

 

no mate I don't mean in the future, when I say potential all I mean is they look like they have the ability therefore it is a possibility if they can gel into a good team unit

 

yeh strikers tend to score more then wingers. and how do you know that he will score a lot of goals, he came from scunthorpe and could turn out *.

"crossing is only as good as the players in the box" mcgeady puts a lot of crosses in to be fluffed up by the clowns in the middle

"ledley can put a good cross in" can he? i havent see much of that here or at cardiff.

 

fair enough. i just dont think any of the players we have brought in or have been linked with have the "potential" to be anywhere near as good as aiden, or have the passion or the drive as he does.

 

aiden is an excellent player but there comes a time when it's best if a player moves on and it certainly seems as though he would rather carry on his career at a higher level of competition. Personally, I quite like the idea of having a srong, energetic, SOLID midfield next season because we lost the battle in that key area far too often last season and i'm happy lenny is addressing that. One thing's for sure, I would rather re-invest the mcgeady millions on people who want to come in and play for our club rather than keep an unhappy player. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised once the team shapes up mate

 

Sorry, when were these crosses???? you must have been in a trance or sumhin, what major things has aiden done iin the past 3-4 seasons??. Well considering that hooper played for probably one of the bottom 3 clubs in the championship last season and managed to socre 20 odd goals against better defences than he will in the spl.

 

Well like i said, mine is just an opinion the only thing that worries me is the calibre of player that would be brought in, we seem to be bringing in players that have nothing on the players that are leaving. i dont think that he is unhappy here, ive seen nothing that makes me think otherwise. the only think that excites me is the prospect of seeing more of Mccourt, i think given the chance he could be as good or better then Aiden.

I just think mcgeady is a player that we take for granted and that we would miss him hugely.

 

Christ sake, why do people keep going on about McGeady and his lack of goals? He scored 8 last season? He's a winger, Ledley did not score near as much as Aiden and why bother mentioning that Hooper will score more goals than Aiden, he's a striker that's his job. I would hope he scores 10+ goals this season. McGeady's a great player and most of our fans have sky high expectations for him and ignore the fact that he has been one of our, if not the best player we have had in the past 3-4 years.

 

mcgeady wants to go and he is out drinking all the time and that cant be a good thing so get the best price for him.the secret is spending the money wisely petoski,ramis,gallas,teine,lawrence and bellamy,hinkel and samaras will be moved on and if we are lucky maf,and also i dont think lenny fancies rass,these signings would be quality and poss enough for title,as we still have dead wood that has to go

i could score 50+ goals in the championship for * sake, sebo had a good record for before he joined rangers. its what he does for us that counts. and i dont think hooper would be any good.

what has he done for us? so im guessing your not looking at the several player of the year awards he has got or the fact that he has been immense for us the past 3-4 seasons, been our best player by far, being our playmaker and creating most of our chances and scoring some goals in the process.

To prove my point, when keane came, a decent striker, aiden started getting more assists.

Are you is mate? he hasnt told anybody he wants to leave. and ive never heard anything about him out drinking, and if he was, then sod it, he was off for the summer, they can do what they like during that time.

i dont think we would get any of those players, bellamy is a deffinate no, ramis was a player that mogga wanted, gallas wouldnt come, and i dont think lawrence would be that good for us, as for the rest i dont know much about them.

 

Whats this rubbish about Celtic selling there best players! Aiden doesn't want to be here anymore and wants to better himself which in my eyes is fair enough. But on the other hand i don't want a player who doesn't want to be here. So let him go! Oh aye he has great ability but he has the worst crossing i've seen. Rubbish, wee, floaty, ineffective crosses. Would be overjoyed with 10m as well.

nothing wrong with his crossing. he is our best player, and since when does he not want to be here anymore?

 

Lennon has made it quite clear that he feels McGeady doesnt want to be here without actually coming out and saying it.

I'd love McGeady to stay but I'm sure he would jump at the chance of the EPL rather than stay on another year with us.
