Aiden McGeady,Merged.

Of course Lawwell wants to make as much money as possible for Celtic. That's his job!

 

think aiden made it obvious towards the end of the season. I'm suprised he hasn't already moved on

People keep saying this but cant say exactly why. If a player wants to leave, they say "i want to leave"

 

his attitude and his body language. I was at the last old firm game last season and the way he was waving to the fans and his face just looked as if he was saying his goodbyes. Might just be me though

 

fair point. but if i had the worst season of my life due to a crap manager and we had lost the title to rangers so embarrasingly i would be pretty miffed and would be totally deflated. i for one thought he did pretty well once lenny took over

i dont think he was waving goodbye, but that might just be me as well!

 

not denying he didn't do well under lennon just thought the other players looked a bit relieved to have beat rangers and mcgeady's body language just said that what i mentioned in the previous post. Wouldn't mind him staying but don't think he would be any great loss IMO

 

i think we will all live to regret it if he goes "never know what you have until its gone", so i hope to * he doesnt go. Hes the kind of player we sorely missed the other night.

but its not looking good, the board are money grabbers and i dont think lenny will stand in the way, so lets look forward to a few championship wingers gracing celtic park next season

 

tbh i've always said aidens got the potential to be a great player but he's never went that extra little step. He's a good player but just not consistent enough in his performances(which to be fair may be down to everyone in the team looking to him whenever we're in trouble), his crossing is very poor, i would like to see him track back and try and win the ball back more and he goes missing to often in big games. I think if we got rid of mcgeady and brought in lawrence and either a great centre back or centre forward we would be ok

 

for me, crossing is only as good as the players in the box, we havent had a great striker since larsson, he does get decent balls in but no one is there to put them in the net. when keane joined he started to get more assists. i think he does his fair share of tracking back, but he is our playmaker. he should be hovering around near the halfway line, recieve the ball then leg it forward and make something happen, which he does do.

I just think that a lot of people think of last season and base there assumptions of him on that, but last season the whole team was terrible and he was not one of the worst performers by far. if we think to the season before last he was immense, and irreplaceable, and a season later everyone wants rid of him. Hes an important player to us and i think should this deal go through, we will miss him more then we think. I think he has shown up for a lot more games then he hasnt.

I rate lawrence and think he would do ok here, but i dont think he is a patch on mcgeady and we would be taking a big drop in ability on the wing should he be the replacement.

 

i'll agree and disagree with you there i do feel his crossing and tracking back is not up to scratch though you do make good points in him being the playmaker. just my opinion though and everyones is different especially in football

 

yeah fair enough, its all matters of opinion, everyones differ.

 

after watching lenny speak bout it on ssn i reckon aiden maybe in his last week at celtic! he said theirs a large offer on the table, he even stopped half way and said "here is me speaking as though he is deinetely going, thats not the case" but for a while it cone across as though aiden will be saying cheerio very shortly

 

i think hes away russia aint so bad am sure club officials at spartak will keep good care of him he will be one of their star players after all

 

yeh when i watched that he apperared to be pretty confident hes going

 

lhads i dont want to keep saying it but i have a horrible feeling where the club is going .footballing wise Nobody in this side excites me ,except aiden !And he maybe off ..everybody keeps saying 10 mil this or 10 mil that but if players of the same quality are bought with that money as the recent signings ,where is the club heading????

 

down the * mate, the only players who excite me are aiden and paddy. and the calibre of players coming in is shocking

 

More excitement down in pleasure beach on the big dipper mate Maybe you might be better off buying a season pass for there instead

 

get a grip guys! we could be like the huns not buying anyone and selling all our best players, at least we're signing people and some of them look like they have the potential to be very good players for us.

 

Peter lawwell can negotiate with Spartak Moscow all he wants. There is absolutely no chance of McGeady going to Russia, never in a million years.
