Aye we're really short of wingers - we've only got Maloney, McGinn, Forrest, Ledley, Conroy, Slane and Caddis. :icon_mrgreen:

We need a LB and a CB imo.

I say if we've got money to chuck around, let's get a quality striker.

I'm just convinced that he fits into the game ... Spartak is always trying to play smart football, which is like Aiden, I think you remember our game with you 3 years ago, "I hope to meet with you in the Champions League group =))

Get Bellamy and Lawrence if possible from his sale,

But tbh I dont want to see him go, I like him and he was done an incredible service to the club in his time here

If Aiden goes, we have to go in for Peter Whittingham from Cardiff. Top goal scorer in the Championship and from Left wing, he's exactly what we need (if we lose Aiden). He'd score bag loads and would be great in a 4-5-1 (where you need lots of goals from Midfield). and we should be able to pick him up pretty cheap, seeing as Cardiff's lack of money.
Would be sad to see Aiden go as he is one of the only players in a squad who can do something special and has that natural talent, but if it was a nice big offer, that can be reimbursed in the team, then it's worth it.

Good player but i dont think their manager would let us take another 1 of his best players, he seems a bit bitter about the whole ledley scenario.

Every player we buy doesn't necessarily have to have a re-sale value, We've already brought in people like ledley, juarez and hooper who could potentially be sold for huge profits in the future. If Keane helped us to the title for the next 3 or 4 seasons before retiring it would be money well spent in my opinion.

I live maybe 20 miles from Villa Park and all my pals are Villa fans and they are loving the supposed connection, living down here you dont get to fully see how good or bad Aiden is unless you watch the matches, the only things that get reported about him is that he has skill in abundance, is quick and loves going past players and can come up with a goal or two. All this in their eyes is exactly what they need but they dont see his flaws.... I do my best to tell them that yes he is a good player but nothing like they expect.... yet ! £10 million to them is the price for an average winger and they think they are getting a premium winger for bargain money.

I realy don't think we will get a viable bid for him this summer. Who other than Villa are interested? (he won't fancy Russia). The Villa move is looking less likely as the Milner to City one is stalling.

I just can't see a decent bid coming in.

i really cant see a bid coming in either, just not feeling it from the villa end.

if he stays i hope the new regime will show us his best in the new look midfield.

im actually quite excited about mcgeady staying now because i had totally given up hope of him being part of the team next year. We could have a very impressive team in midfield in particular if he stays, and if he goes we'll have a huge cash injection....just shows the value of investing in a quality youth team, if there's one star coming through every 5-10 years like McGeady it's well worth it
