As the title says. Looks like we will be going all out for a Kyogo replacement. Idah’s put his claim in for main man.

Jota’s back, and the prospect of him on the left Kuhn right we are al desperately wanting to witness.

Rumours of £7m for another winger, young exciting looking talent who’s mainly a LW I think?

But a game like tonight highlighted so much just what a miss Daizen is with what he brings. I thought he was going to be the CF, but if we so spend big on a Kvistgardeen to replace Kyogo then he’s 3rd choice there. Where does that leave him?

2nd choice RW behind Kuhn, 3rd choice striker behind nee striker and Idah and 2nd/3rd choice LW depending on if we sign the other winger for £7m. Don’t think we spend that for a 3rd choice

Let's wait and see who we bring in by Monday night, but I don't think we'll be spending on another winger. If we do I'd expect it's because we are anticipating bids for Kuhn in the summer and it's his replacement.

The people linking us with the £7m bid for the other winger are ones that are usually good for our news. It’s surprising I assumed dead in the water after Jota. But even if that doesn’t happen and just was an option if Jota deal fell through, the question still stands. Does it leave him as a sorta rolling option for back up for the front 3 positions?

I don’t think he’s the type to be happy being just a squad player. Think that’ll see him look to move in summer, I don’t think he starts ahead of Kuhn or Jota in full flow and think on Europe, and we’ve seen Hun games as well, he’s key for us and we need to have him here as well.

Aw *, bids for Kuhn. That’s probably what the plan is, catches me off guard when we have forward planning I forget that’s an option we should be doing :56:

Left wing or striker. Jota will need time to get up to speed and I expect Daizen to remain first choice for now.

Also a point I’ve not taken into consideration, based off me having the feeling Jota will hit the ground running after his last 18 months, and the adrenaline and buzz he has returning. He’s the type as soon as he hears Parkhead burst into his song after a lonely sounding year and a half… think he’ll go * right on one.

But if he does need that time, aye, Daizen remains first choice one of the main guys for us.

Remember when we had Jota, Maeda & Abada, and they all got loads of games between them. It'll be exactly like that.
Even if we get a fourth wingers, I'd expect all of them to get on the pitch most games, it'll be good to be able to rotate players

Last night his intense pressing would have helped alot. Even bringing him on for up top is great. Infact, his speed, ball over the top on that high line is exactly the type of game we can use that. Idah was brilliant, but predictably after selling kyogo, we didn't have an option up top. Idah went off, our attack ended. We've got a brilliant team, just need a stronger squad. Rodgers is building and we've finally moved onto the next level of signing. We look like we belong in the champions league. Only losing 2 of 8 games? That's insanely good.

On the left wing to start with as Yang is hoaching not sure why there is even this discussion he’s pivotal to how we play and Jota will take time to get fully fit and upto speed

For now, Khun Idah and Maeda start up top. Jota then on the hour with Maeda replacing the tiring idah.
Then when Jota fully up to speed, perfect for rotation.

I'd be happy playing Maeda through the middle if he wasn't playing wide.
His pace and directness would frighten any central defender.

I think we play enough games for everyone to get game time. I would expect spells where Maeda starts and spells where Jota starts, and they can play various positions across the front 3.

I think the game against Villa highlighted how light we are as a squad. Yang had to start and we had to bring on Cummings and Murray - and it’s not like we have an injury crisis.

We shouldn't be trying to make space for Maeda, if he's good enough he'll get in.
If not, he'll become squad player - and a good one at that.

Brendan clearly recognises Maeda's weaknesses and that's why we have Jota and a striker incoming.

I’d try something like this domestically:

    Schmeichel

    Aj CCV. Trusty. Tierney

    Calmac. Engels

    Kuhn. Jota

    Maeda

    Idah

Have both Engels and Calmac sit a little deeper. Up front we have mixture of pace, power and technique. Maeda could torment CB all day, it will be harder for other teams to press us, since they have to watch Kuhn and Jota on the wings and Maeda running around harassing both CM and CB. As well Aj and KT like moving up as well. So the huns their pressing they used in last two games wont work since we got a different setup that nullifies they high pressing.

Will fit it nicely to plenty of our lineups depending on opposition etc.

Think we’ll just see more rotation.

Jota and Kuhn simply have to start most games if they play to the level we know they can. Both are quite clearly far better (traditional) wingers than Maeda.

Maeda can rotate with them and play through the middle occasionally.

If we do sign the other LW, I think we'll see him or Jota subbing for/rotating with Kuhn.
