Gutted for him. Missing the rest of the group stage is a kick in the baws.

Thankfully we have Lustig who is an excellent right back. Just hope Matthews comes back stronger than ever.

That's really * for Adam man, hope this doesn't stall his progress too much. He could have been a real asset in the CL too. His pace and drive will be missed BUT the silver lining is the young lad Fisher. Whenever I have seen him he has looked quality so hopefully he can kick on and play some league games now. Keep Lustig wrapped up in cotton wool because we really can't afford to lose him now.

Never was able to watch the game on Saturday, so was very sorry to hear this. Has it definitively been established whether the Lasley tackle was a clean one, or did he get Matthews first? If the latter, this is a clear-cut example for the SFA to retroactively punish him for it. Can't suspend him for the length of Matthews's absence, but 2-4 games would seem to me a worthy punishment for his callous disregard.

it was a fair tackle. Matthews just landed awkwardly on his shoulder

Lasley gets the ball but only after taking Matthews out, I thought that sort of thing was outlawed?

He definitely takes Matthews ankle before the ball, that's a pen for me.

The injury was a freak occurence and as much as it pains me I think Lasley was going for the ball but he takes Adam before the ball imo.

Baw buster. Couple of positive points, Fisher will hopefully get some games and clubs down South won't see much of him against the best in Europe.

Clutching at straws but what can you do :56:

I liked the look of him in pre season.

I only seen it back there and he got the ball first. Just Lasley is a dirty * and tackles hard.

Missed the game and only seen it there on the news. May be wrong

Doesn't Marcus Fraser play at RB, as well? Either way, I'd like to see the youth lads at RB from hereon.

I hope Matthews recovers fast, he's a favourite.

Think Fraser is still out injured too.

    I'm not picky.
Lasley went through Matthews to get to the ball, but I agree with the last part. The injury wasn't Lasley's fault. Was just an unfortunate landing.

Hope Matthews gets better soon. Has been one of Lenny's best signings by a mile.

That's all I've really seen barring a couple of the youth games at Fir Park.

His best attributes seem to be the fact he is solid in the tackle, determined and a hard worker. Be good to see him get some game time, even just to push on his development.

We gave him a new contract this year along with Atajic and Frail talks highly of both, must be something there.

The silver lining on all of this might be Fisher coming in and doing a job for us, it very often turns out that way, gives a chance for someone else to break into the team.

Marcus Fraser seems to have been out for a very long time. Anyone know the nature of his injury, and when he is expected back ?

It's amazing Marcus Fraser played those Europa League games then disappeared off the face of the Earth.

We had major defensive injury worries at that point. He was only 17 then and he's only just turned 19, there's plenty of time for him yet.

    Fraser is out till December/January..

Not sure how his development is going/if he's had any setbacks etc but what a real promising player he was and hopefully still is..

Done his cruciate ligaments real bad one..

3 months?? ffs he was having a really good start to the season.

Mind Ambrose can play RB if we're looking thin.

Thanks to both of you for the insight. Sounds like it could have been a pen, but was certainly a traditional hard-man's tackle. Surprised no one on Celtic retaliated, but Brown is probably being extra cautious these days :icon_mrgreen:
