I wonder if we were hoping the FFP rules down there to the end of the financial year meant we were hoping they would want him gone by the 30th of June and were waiting for them to come to us with a potential cut price deal. That hasn't happened so now we need to actually take the lead on it.

 

4 weeks to make an official move for a player we had in for 6months... ffs! Gonna be a slow long summer.

If we've waited this long...it shows we've waited till BR is back in the building.

Lawells probably been on holiday is the real reason for the delay

 

I'll give the club the benefit of the doubt in assuming they've been having talks with Norwich about where we both are in terms of fee and the delay has been us trying to find a compromise between what we are willing to pay and what Norwich value him at.

If we did only want to pay £5m and they did want £8m, I wouldn't be surprised to see a fee around the £6m mark with add ons possible. Which would be a good enough deal for me.

Hopefully we some movement on this one quickly. Get him in, get him settled back into the team and try progress him, given we know we have a lot to work with.

 

From the outside looking in having a guy on loan for 6 months then waiting until July to officially make an approach seems very Celtic

I think £6m plus some realistic add ons is fair. People can moan saying he's worth £3m but the same people would moan we didn't back the manager if we didn't sign him and say we are cheapskates. He's somebody Rodgers obviously rates and wants in his team.

Celtic keep * close to their chest, I can't imagine this gets out unless Celtic are confident he's signing in the next week.

 

We are all speculating but you would think that most likely is the case that we have been talking with Norwich and going back and forth and this is us now at a point where we think we have the makings of a deal so time to officially put the offer in. Lets hope things get done fairly quickly from here so Idah can right into pre-season training nice.

I would rather stop fannying with this and move on.

Just think he ain't going to improve our 1st team.

I seriously would look at him as a 3rd striker, for around £2.5-3m.

 

Not too happy that it has taken us all this time to put an "official" bid in.

Wish the deal would get tied up and move on to the next target.

 

He's going to be our starting striker in the CL isn't he?

 

He improved us alot. He's much better suited to how BR wants us to play.

 

Clearly he WILL improve the first team, considering he DID improve the first team.
