Because the fee is edging towards 7-9m now and I genuinely believe we can sign better for that money. Ready made better.

Just because we have money, doesn't mean we should spend it regardless the price. We still need to scout and recruit properly. 7m gets you better than Idah if you look properly.

They're only a year of a difference in age, where both didn't do great at Norwich, was merely the point.

I'm sure it does.

However, the point is Larsson cost under £1m. He's a * unicorn.

We could spend £7m-£9m on a 'ready made' player and they could flop. We know what we're getting with Idah.

He's been a huge player for us this season.

Just spend the money. We're discussing about 15% difference. The same difference that we walked away/got * over with McGinn and Fletcher.

 

Money doesn't guarantee of course not, but it does get you a higher quality, for the most part.

The whole point is, spend wisely and properly. Scout properly.

I'd sign Idah, my opinion has turned since he first arrived. But over 7m for him is madness.

We know what we are getting and it's not over 7m worth.

Aye £7m+ is a lot for someone who has only really done well in the past 3-4 months. I think £5m is fair for him, but if they are talking £8-9m then I’d go straight to Aberdeen and offer £4-5m for Miovski, because I think that’s what Aberdeen will hold out for, and probably get it as well.

 

I'd be inclined to do the same.

Unfortunately Aberdeen will be very aware of what's happening as well. Soon as we drop Idah interest and ask them about miovski, they'll know how much to push for

With price and interest rising, we should look elsewhere.
Big mistake not nailing down an option to buy fee as we scrambled for final day panic loans as usual.

He did well off and on in an often struggling team, but yet still not well enough to be a 1st team pick?

We can't simply ignore his poor Norwich form, in the championship remember, over last few years either.

Others who cost in same ball park, like Eddy, CCV and Jota were absolute stand outs and automatic picks.
Can and should be aiming for higher quality for that kind of money.

 

I think £7m is probably a fair price in the world we live in.

You can spend £15m on a completely average player in England.

I think Idah has shown he's worth it and has potential to get even better.

Shot leagues not the word I would use a league that deprived of the tv money it deserves is probably the description I would use …. And because of this supporters are making g a big conscious effort to support their clubs and keep them going

£7m seems crazy for a player all the Norwich fans wanted rid of less than a year ago. His record in England and the general attitude to this league there means he probably won't have much if any demand there so I don't see where the competition is going to come from to demand that kind of fee. I think we string this one out for a while and ultimately land at £4-5m or move on. My biggest worry would be the board haggling for him all window and missing out on another striker as a result.

 

Don't get me wrong, I like him, and I'll be happy if we sign him. Does that mean that I think he's an absolute must-sign at the price quoted? No, I don't. Do I also believe there is better out there for the price quoted? Aye, I do. Of course, I'm not a scout so I have to trust our department is doing the necessary work. Ahem...

 

£7m is mental for him.

 

They've every right to demand what they want, he's their player.

If we want him, we'll pay it (or something close).

£7m is what we paid for Nawrocki and Yang....allegedly.
