Around that £5m is probably fair, if we offered a good sell on % to go with it. They're not likely to use him enough for the development he needs and there's still the question of whether he'll progress or plateau. If we paid 5 now, probably another 1-1.5 depending on meeting certain criteria, and about a 20% sell on clause, they could realistically be seeing almost £9m for a player they'd never use.

But... They are in Barmyland down there, so they could easily get someone offering them £7-9m on the nose upfront without even flinching :39:

I'd happily pay 5m for him from what I've seen so far. Plus he's also young enough to make that investment. Let's be honest, we have never replaced Giakomakis. He was useful. A big powerful striker as an alternative to wee Kyogo. Big Adam fits the bill

Nah man I’m sure at the time there was plenty of good luck wishes whilst slamming the board, which is still understandable by the way. Idah’s arrival isn’t some masterstroke by the board, they’ve gotten lucky with one of their cheap moves

Is defo sign him, even if it’s a bit over 5 million. Think how many pish strikers we’ve brought in over the years that just don’t have it, we’ve got a guy right in front of us that we know can score goals, can handle the league, scores against the huns etc. I reckon he’d be useful in Europe as well

Think he's great and as predicted shot ourselves in rhe foot having no buy option. Importance of a January signing right here. His goals must have gained us atleast 6 points we'd have lost. Hopefully we can get him for a decent fee but I doubt it.

Think that's a bit harsh, but understand your point... Think most of the backlash against the player was just overflow from the amount of anger/frustration with the board at the time.

Myself personally, I admitted I knew nothing about him but for the same reason I'd give him his chance, but wasn't pleased he was the extent he was the clubs ambition in what was an important window. I'm very happy with him, because he's earned the credit he's getting. I still think it's lucky on the clubs part. I understand that some people run a lot hotter than I do, so although I'd roll my eyes at some folk, some of the time, I'd be a lot happier if folk just got behind him together now, than *-talking between ourselves :celt_2:

Was fuming when we got him on loan, he’s came in worked hard and scored some important goals.

If we can get him for 3 million then it’s a no brainier, we need a big physical presence up top and OH is not good enough. Bring him in and sell OH.

As an Ireland fan I had followed him closely for a few years. I felt he was a really poor signing but he has proven me completely wrong. His attributes suit our style and dare I say it he might even be first choice next season if we buy him. Fair play to the boy he has been brilliant for us.

Needs to start games until the end of the season. Kyogo is scoring but not offering as much as Idah, who is scoring as well.

Nah for me, Kyogo starts.. he's levels above Idah..

He's proving an excellent option tho.

Not for me. He is threat when coming on around the hour mark, when defenders are tiring and thats when he can best use his strength. Am sure the few times he has started, he's been pish.

Two big errors in the last 2 games and both are identical. Should have squared it at Ibrokes and the same yesterday. That type of greediness costs a team and it did last week. I think he’s worth a punt at 6 ish million. The board have conditioned us to think £6 million is a lot of money…….Lennon, Hartson, Sutton etc etc….a long time ago and around the same outlay.

I think he's definitely put himself in contention for a permanent deal here. Whether or not we can make that happen, is a different thing. If it was a pick between signing Idah for £6m or Bernardo, I'd be picking Idah. He's contributed far more in a shorter space of time.

That being said, I still think the club/Rodgers want Kvistgaarden and we aren't going to sign both him and Idah. So, be interesting to see where we go from here.
