I would agree with you there. Be it the wages he likely wants and his age and where he is at career wise I don't see it at all.

Millwall are rumoured to have enquired about Idah.

 

I'd be happy with anything over 4, but 6 is probably fair

 

The market at the top end of football isnt about value, its simply about getting the best player for the position a club needs to fill. And while some of the prices are huge, there is actually nothing wrong with teams simply signing players that they can afford to make the team better, rather stressing about "fair value" or "sell on potential". Not every player should be a 2 year project to flip and make money.

Ive never rated Idah, could never see what Rodgers sees, but Ive never actually had an issue with "overpaying" if that is what the manager needs.

 

Clubs don't want to bank a loss. This is why you can see clubs sending big money flops out on loan the next season rather than sell them outright. If we are to sell Idah this season then we would need to get £6.8m as we amortise his fee through the profit and loss over the length of his contract so that is currently his book value. Clubs like to loan them out as the book value will have fallen next year so if the spell goes well they might actually be able to get £6m next year when his book value is £5.1m and they will be able to recognise a profit in their financial statements rather than a loss.

At the minute I don't see Idah attracting anything over £5m so that is why he would only move on loan this year and we are already struggling to stay within our loan limits as we can only loan a max of 6 players.

 

Millwall....that's who is interested . Says it all. Anything over 5 and it's a no brainer .

 

Our board wont take a loss on him this early on considering how much its said to still be stinging them paying the initial fee for him.

 

Thing is, imagine the absolute riot if we sold idah for £6m and then didn’t replace him Kenny and yamada up top for this season

 

Millwall already have better strikers..

 

Give Millwall £5 million plus Idah for Ivanovoc.

 

They bought Coburn for £5M so can’t see it unfortunately. They aren’t big spenders.

 

We are never gonna make money on him

 

We wont but we certainly wont sell him for around 3 million less than we bought him for after a year.

 

I know Idah's not well liked but why the rush to sell? You really wanna see Johnny Kenny leading the line for us? 8 months on and we still haven't replaced Kyogo, you think the people in charge here are gonna replace Idah in 2 weeks? We need players in before we can sell him.
