Doesn't even bother getting himself into the box after either , jogs at an absolute canter to the 18 yard line when the cross gets put in.

 

The thing is he has some qualities. Not many of them suit a Brendan Rodgers team though. Always seemed like a bizarre signing.

Rodgers likes his strikers to be able to drop deep, link play and bring midfield runners into play beyond the striker.

Idah is more a, let's send him on for ten minutes and lump the ball up to him.

Strange signing all round, especially for the price.

 

I hope Brendan can get the Idah from his loan spell when he was fully fit, and a handful for defenders. His numbers weren't bad last season, but he didn't look as confident.

That's the thing though, even in his loan spell his best moments came when were chasing games. That was my point really.

As a starter and playing Rodgers' methodical build up play seems completely alien to him.

 

Yeah he's one of those who is better with less time to think. The one he missed at the debt star last season when Reo played him in, he scores that the season before.

You could think he's having a * game, then he'd rattle one in the top corner from the edge of the box.

 

Definitely blows hot and cold but shows glimpses of being a very good striker. Just needs to stay hungry and focused and gain consistency cause he has the raw attributes I think.

 

With Kenny getting on ahead of him today, and Yamada being signed, you'd hope it puts a rocket up him and he starts pushing himself, but honestly I don't think he will, Kyogo was missing sitters left and right and he couldn't displace him, then he was sold and we had to bring Maeda central because Idah still wasn't stepping up.

I really hope I'm proven wrong, but I've been saying that since his loan and didn't think we should sign him permanent, maybe something will click with him like GG, he couldn't buy a goal in his earlier career until the season before we signed him, but Idah just doesn't ever look hungry to me, like Kenny when he came on the last game and starting today it was obvious he was desperate to prove himself, Idah's looking more and more like a very average lazy player massively overpaid because he got lucky and came through at a team in england.

Wouldn't be adverse to keeping him either and giving him another chance tbh, can see both perspectives.

 

Can't see him going anywhere myself, the rumours are somewhat stemming from him being in an airport yesterday (when flying to dublin for all Ireland).. back I. Glasgow now. We won't get a big enough offer for the club to pull the trigger in letting him go imo..
