Raw is the word that probably best describes him. You get glimpses of ability but there's also a lot of rough edges. That said, he scores fairly regular for someone who doesn't usually start matches and has scored vital goals in big games for us. His contribution last season when on loan shouldn't be overlooked either. He was a big reason we won the league so comfortably and obviously got the winner in the cup final. A lot of supporters seem to have it in for him(especially on Kerrydale street) and I don't really get why. Not because he doesn't have his faults but because, as with Greg Taylor, I think he does his best and as long as a player does that then there's not much more you can expect. If after that they simply aren't good enough then the blame lies with the manager for selecting them in the first place.

First touch is a matter of technique, so it is definitely coachable. Football intelligence is harder, but a seasoned pro could tell a player what signs to look for when needing to make a decision. A good manager could sit down players and explain things during training and via videos.

The one thing you can't work on is height. But Idah has that.

Really do want it to work for him and you can tell how much he loves the club.

He's got something about him but is far too erratic in when he shows it. Him missing a sitter, wandering in and out the game, then scoring with a beautiful flick to set himself up - pretty much sums him up. You just never know what you're going to really get.

If Brendan Rodgers can genuinely find a way to get proper consistency from him in terms of his performances, it'll be a massive achievement for him. Not so much his goals because he's going to bag us 20 this season it seems.

I agree, when he failed to play Forrest in, he did brilliant to win the ball in the first place. Next season is going to be massive for him, Engels, and to a lesser extent, Bernardo, on how Brendan can improve them.

I would like to see him put himself about more, if he can knock other players off the ball like that.

    Well I'll put this way...
I remember when Daizan Maeda was the centre of criticism amongst our fans.
I remember when he missed that sitter against Real Madrid. I could have jumped in the telly and killed him!

He cant play up front. He was a poor replacement for Kyogo. He misses more sitters than Harald Brattbakk. ....I listened to it all....

Now he is irreplaceable. Easily best player in Scotland. One of best strikers since Larsson. ....I'm listening to it all

Funny how * can turn on its head

I like him tbh. Think after a right good preseason being shown exactly what to do and focusing on just that, will transform him.

    100% agree
I posted a while back saying at £9mil and mid 20's he shouldn't be a 'project', but he is....
Have got to believe that with the investment made someone in the coaching set-up has a plan
(and if that fails rub some magic Maeda dust on him....)
