Like others, I thought there was a chance he may be another Giakoumakis after his loan spell. Definitely has a bit to go.

 

Yeah Rodgers gets weirdly obsessed with bang average players sometimes. The way he talks about Idah you'd think he was Ronaldo.

Many fans lap it up too, I'm baffled why anyone has confidence Idah will 'come good' based on his last 12 months here. He's a decent backup option, nothing more imo.

 

Lacking so much of what made Giakoumakis good mentality wise. Nowhere near hungry or aggressive enough.

Scored a few big goals last season which got him supporter buy-in but at the moment I don't really think he's better than what we had with Oh.

He's got to turn this around asap...

 

Could have got much better elsewhere for 9m.

 

I wonder how much money Gia actually wanted we've spent a lot of money trying to replace him.

 

Needs to take a long hard look in the mirror..needs to contribute so much more...he shat himself when he should have stroked that in .. there's a player there but wether he wants to prove it remains to seen.

 

If you ignore the fact we were actually scouting the lad from Brondby, aye.

 

He wanted to be first choice striker when Kyogo was on fire. That's how I heard it, so wasnt all about the dosh. But I would have Gioukmakis back in a heartbeat.

 

Is it just me who had a hard on for Giakoumkis?

Idah looks bang average. You could put Shankland in our team and he'd probably have a similar influence. And I think Shankland is overrated.

 

He played well against Ross County and has had good moments in other games but he was poor tonight. Badly needs a goal and needs to improve. Plenty of games left to do that.

 

He wanted away. He's a journeyman plus I am sure i read he hated the weather. Which I totally understand

 

He can't play back to goal because his first touch isn't good enough. He should only be used as a direct attacker.

 

Giakoumakis wanted to double his wages. That was never happening. Glad he got his move and he did a decent job for us but I think folk are overrating how good he actually was for us, couldn't buy a goal against the huns for example and took about 6 months to get going for us.

 

Starting to get worrying now..

 

Simply has to put that chance away at 1-0, same with Bernardo with the header and the one Kyogo pulled back to him and AJ at the back post. When a team is packing the box like that you can’t afford to miss 4 chances like that in a game.

 

You can't blame Rodgers for wanting him, he was crucial last season..

It just isn't happening for him.. it was unforgivable he didn't get on to Kyogos cross in the first half..

He's defintely a worry.. needs to get some aggression back in his game.

 

The Adam Idah chance is a big moment in the game, Brendan, because if you scored a second at that time when Bernardo hits the bar, you’d be pretty rampant and dominant?

We had good chances, like I say. We were switching the game well against their shape, moving it onto the sides well and getting in and had some good opportunities. Like you say, if you can get the second goal then it can put you in a real good place in the game.

We didn't quite do that and we got punished for it in the second half.

Is it a worry for you to have Adam Idah going 12 games without a goal?

My main worry tonight is from a defensive perspective. That's the concern for tonight.

It's always difficult to be a striker because they want to score goals. We all want them to score. If they're pressing and working and running then we're hopeful that other players will contribute.

Tonight was more about the defending than the attacking.
