He shows flashes and maybe with a proper run he can fulfil his potential and become a great striker for us.

I can't seem to shake the lingering doubts I have about him though. His touch is wildly inconsistent. He's good at flicks and lay offs but looks very cumbersome at times. I also doubt whether he'll ever be clinical in front of goal, there's something missing there for me.

I hope I'm wrong obviously, but unless we're putting all of our eggs in the Idah basket, I'd seriously be looking for another first-choice striker over the next 2 windows.

Not great yesterday, another who just needs to find his consistency.

Thought he was a bit * yday aswell tbh. Think it would help him though if he started with more creative players on the pitch like Hatate and kuhn. Could see the difference in our play instantly when they came on

Mind we all thought we wouldn't miss Matt O'Riley? Lol.

Stop mate, collectively we are probably better this season but my * we miss some goal contributions from him. I actually think with more playing time mccowan can up his numbers quite a bit but Matt O’Rileys level was a joke

Don’t rate him at all , think we need a new striker as 1st choice , Kyogo hasn’t been great for a while now and Idah I can’t see coming good , still maintain we should have bought Miovski instead.

I think the cup final goal last year and maybe one or two other games got him the move but there was games last year where he was bang average. We really shouldn’t be relying on wingers and midfielders scoring for us.

We need an old fashioned left winger to supply him and Kyogo with crosses. Our players go inside way too much.

Aye agree we're better off overall, at least when the boys are on form. Hatate is probably the closest we've got to Matt's quality bit obviously it's sporadic.

Think we could be doing with a marquee signing in there, even a loan. The boys are all capable of producing but none of them are anywhere close yet.

Don’t think we’ll get a big signing in cm if that’s what your meaning unless Hatate goes the other way. Definitely need someone with that creativity to come in and it’s good signs that Rodgers has mentioned it too. A winger a 10 and Tierney :BR1:

You’d have to be mental to have thought that.

I can’t see him being here too long tbh. As someone said further up the thread, we should’ve bought Miovski. Idah has offered little enough this season and he looks a bit lazy/disinterested at times.

I don’t think anyone seriously suggested that we wouldn’t miss him. Or, certainly not anyone worth engaging with.

This is idah level imo. He's always been consistently inconsistent..

Miovski would have been a far better option . Brendan wants to bring in more firepower in Jan . Don't think he will ever be a standout here.

Idah’s our top scoring striker largely off the bench with limited game time. Kyogo we all know his quality, Idah has outscored him and was more consistent in his loan spell after January scoring wise.

We aren’t setting up to make the strikers excel just now, both are missing chances they should bury when they get the chances, but the system is set up for the main striker to occupy spaces for wingers to take advantage of.

But both have the chances as well, and not taking them when they should. Idah’s been doing it better than Kyogo though

Kyogo and Idah are both on 8. Idah has about half the minutes Kyogo has though.

My mistake, I thought he had 9 with Kyogo on 8, but limited game time in comparison.

Both aren’t taking the chances they should IMO but I still stand by the set up is not feeding the main guy up top, it’s creating more for wingers and midfield late runs. But they still have chances, and aren’t taking anywhere enough that’s presented to them.

Him against Motherwell I thought he done well; better than he has the last starts he has had majorly. Surprised me opening the thread and seeing not good enough.
