I said a few weeks ago that the truth was he just wasn't a good player and didn't have the ability. I'm one of the ones who felt he just had a purple patch last season and couldn't really live up to the price tag this term.

Last few appearances have had me change my tune a fair bit.

Really, really liked his performance from the start yesterday and his goal return is actually looking more and more impressive by the week. This came after another clinical display at Tynecastle when the pressure was on after Kyogo had already netted. He's holding the ball up really well and showing a lot more technical care where as at times earlier in the season it felt like it was just bouncing off of him.

Not totally convinced the £9m couldn't have been better spent elsewhere or on a better centre-forward. But I've been a lot more impressed with what he's been showing recently and his attitude appears to be first-class despite having to rely on mainly sub appearances.

I think Kyogo is primed to start at Pittodrie, but if Idah can impress again and get a goal from the bench then he has a big chance of starting the game against Hibs next Saturday.

Big big month for him and I'm a lot more hopeful about his future here and what he can offer than I was about a month ago. Seeing elements to his game I didn't think he had.

 

Don't think he's had a finish like that for us up until yesterday. Great to see.
