No. Didn’t score on his debut. Got an assist. Scored in his first full start.

I’ve corrected it. He didn’t score on his debut.

Was great movement from him and he looked a lot sharper even in that one move.

90 mins against Falkirk for me.

I think he has to play against Dortmund and Atalanta. Those are exactly the kinds of games where I think he will offer more than Kyogo with his height, pace and strength.

There is an argument for that, but I expect Kyogo to start. The press from the front will be crucial in these games to keep us from being pinned back and his pace and energy, along with Maeda and Kuhn, is absolutely key to that.

Crazy that pressure was building up on him. Think he’ll do great with us. He just seems to fit Celtic

For sure should start at the weekend against Falkirk and hopefully he gets on the score sheet again. Certainly last nights goal has to be a big confidence booster for him.

Weird performance. I actually thought he was pretty gash but he did his main job in putting the ball in the net.

His hold up is really good. But I don't think he influenced the game much at all.

Once we started going in the second half, he was more involved, but that was more down to Kuhn and the midfield playing more confident in attack I think.
He held up the ball well, nice little foot work for one of Kuhn's goals as well.

But on the whole, his performance was sort of what I would worry about the price tag - still rough around the edges and not ready to lead the team as the main striker. Badly missed Kyogo today.

But it's early and I don't think this game is gonna define him (or many). Much more to come, we've seen that before, just need less of the ineffectiveness he showed today and more dominant performances such as the Killie game at the end of last season.

He had a couple of clumsy moments in the first half especially when he left a boot in on their keeper. Showed his worth once he got better service in the second half though.

I stick to my opinion that Norwich rinsed us for him. He was their 4th choice striker for * sake. His goals were integral to us winning the league, he likes being here, he's young(ish) and Irish and he does score goals, but overall I think there are LOTS of things to work on for him.

Hopefully Rodgers sees someone he can work on and improve and that was a major reason is pushing for his transfer. I still think we could have got someone far better for £8-9 million - who that is I don't know. I am not a scout.

    Fully agree.

But he's here and he's much better than I thought he would be when first loaned in January.

I think he will polish up his performances and expect the consistency to come in to his game more.

Don't think we are making much profit on him if we look to sell in a few years though. Not sure I see the trajectory where he becomes a 15-20m player.
But not all signings need to be with the eye of a profit. Just take Giakoumakis for an example.

He wasn't the 4th choice striker, when he signed he was the striker with the most appearances for them and 3rd top scorer.

Maybe we could have gotten better, but we got who the manager wanted when for years we've (I include myself in that) moaned about not backing the manager.

Very poor today - until.Kuhn came on.
Glad Brendan kept him on tho, the 2 goals will do his confidence a lot of good.
