BBC said its now subject to medical. I'm really glad he's coming, Celtic have taken the joy out of it but that's not his fault. I think he's done his best to force the move.

I agree. He was a massive player for us last year too. Getting Idah and Bernado signed permanently is mega for us. I am sure it will guarantee us continued Scottish domination.
The next 2.5 weeks will tell us a lot more on the extent of our Champions League ambitions.
In saying that, I think we have been decidedly unlucky in some of our European games in the last two seasons, it might just require a few more significant signings, and the rub of the green to actually progress further in Europe. Despite the relentless panning of Scales and Taylor by some Celtic fans, I would suggest our defence is a lot stronger now, especially with Schmeichel in goal. as I think he is a far better goalkeeper than Hart. Hart cost us a lot of vital goals in the Champions League, which made it an uphill task for us.

Norwich City have agreed to sell Adam Idah to Celtic, subject to the striker passing a medical.

The Republic of Ireland international was on loan with the Scottish champions in the second half of last season, scoring nine goals.

In the last of his 19 appearances for Brendan Rodgers' side, the 23-year-old hit a last-minute winner in the Scottish Cup final against Rangers.

In early July, Norwich turned down Celtic's opening offer, understood to be around £4m to £5m.

Idah had been facing disciplinary measures at Norwich after missing a flight to their pre-season camp in Austria, but came on as a second-half substitute in Saturday's 2-0 defeat to Oxford United.

He scored 17 times in his 116 outings for Norwich

Celtic and Norwich have agreed an £8.5million deal for Adam Idah.

The striker is on his way to Glasgow for a medical after Norwich City stuck to their guns and secured a hefty pricetag. Football Scotland understands the clubs have also agreed on a 15 percent sell-on and extra add ons should the player reach certain targets as a Hoops star.

It's a bit more than I would have wanted, but he is worth it. Take off the £2M for Lawal, and that's only £6.5M now. :giggle1:

Norwich City have accepted a Celtic offer for striker Adam Idah.

The two clubs have finally reached agreement in a summer long saga, for a deal that could rise to £8.5m, including guaranteed bonuses, to take the Republic of Ireland striker back to Glasgow.

City are also believed to have negotiated a 15pc sell on fee for Idah, who was a hit on loan for Brendan Rodgers’ squad last season in landing a league and cup double during a six-month stint.

The Bhoys’ initial moves this summer were rejected out of hand, with City valuing the 23-year-old considerably higher than a reported £4.5m.

Idah was disciplined and sat out a friendly against Hoffenheim in Austria, after falling to fly out with the rest of Johannes Hoff Thorup’s squad.

But the Parkhead outfit returned to the table last week, and further talks have reached an agreement to end Idah’s seven year stint at Carrow Road.

The Cork-bred striker joined City as an academy scholar but came to prominence with a hat-trick on his FA Cup bow against Preston in 2020. A full Premier League debut came shortly after at Manchester United, but Idah was unable to establish himself as a first choice striker under a series of different head coaches.

The Irishman did sign a five year deal pledging his future to the Canaries last year, however Idah was believed to be frustrated at the lack of starts under David Wagner before a deadline night move to Celtic in January 2024.

Idah produced 11 goal contributions in 19 appearances on loan north of the border, including a late winner to beat arch rivals Rangers at Hampden Park to land a Scottish FA Cup.

The striker is set depart Norfolk after 17 senior goals in 116 appearances, the last of those as a second half substitute in Saturday’s opening day 2-0 Championship defeat at Oxford United
