When he first came to us I thought he would crash and burn. Didn’t seem to have the work ethic. Not interested in closing down etc. But that changed over his time here. So probably Rodgers telling him that. You have to work hard etc to get in this team. Would indicate to me that even as a young guy he is willing to take that criticism and work on it.

I've watched him play for Ireland for a good few years, always in and around the box but kept missing, sort of the Irish Dessers lol. I genuinely thought he'd flop but he did well, has a good attitude, wants to be here (that's actually important) and I do think he'll improve. £6m is fine. Get the big man in!

 

I was raging at his signing and ended up a total fan of him. I even bought the nike boots he wears, like a big wean.

 

I wouldn't mind a 4.5m offer to gauge the price they wanted or might go to and then bud again within the week. The club should have prepared where they were actually willing to go. If we put in 8m straight away we probably would be asked for more.

 

Get the concerns around the price tag but three things that justify this for me -

1. We know he can more than do this business domestically
2. Young enough to make big improvements to his game
3. We sold Oh for somewhere in the region of 2-4m. Deduct whatever taken for Oh against the transfer value of Idah and we end up with a huge upgrade for anywhere between £2m/£4m outlay

Good business and just need it confirmed now. If the board can get idah this week then who know, they might fit on one more over the course of the next three weeks

 

You could even say the income already from this window covers him too your right we are spending a pittance to get him if you take the Oh sale off it

 

Decent article about Norwich, seems they want to keep their best players and have added to their team with little interest in hoarding money for moneys sake, not surprised Celtic board are unable to get Idah transfer done as our board must be perplexed at Norwich’s stance
