It’s absolute madness to expect a new manager to play the old managers system. And also madness to not let a premier league level manager play his own system too…

Todays match was Celtic’s 6,725th Competitive match in all 1st team competitions since their foundation.
Their 6,500th match was also an away win against Aberdeen 3-0 with Lustig, Edouard and Simunovic the scorers

Well I wouldn't have brought back a manager that * us off in the first place or were we not told the whole truth about that debacle ? Did the club/lawel think the league was in the bag why not take the £7 million ? now it's let's change most of the players because they are not suited to my style but we're supposed to be playing a similar style aren't we ?

Joe harts interview tells us that it's a completely different style.

There's a load of bullshit being spoke, Rodgers will be back to playing his style similar to what it was like before and we'll need a whole new team and we'll still be * in the champions league even after the costly rebuild but then they'll say it's a newly built team that needs time to gel, it's a load of *

It was not a particularly brilliant performance but 3 points at Pittodrie and 3 goals is a good days work. Yang looks like he has something about him as did Holm. A few concerns were CCV last injury, Taylor who does not suit a traditional full back role, McGregor who looks miles off it and Turnbull who didn't build on last week's performance. There is no question that we need 2-3 signings of nailed on starters who will add quality. A centre back incoming hopefully a few more on the way.

You’re right people forget ange lost his first 3 away games when he came in, takes time for a certain style and new players to gel

With a new manager, clean slate etc?

    Not for me it isn't.

If Ange was still here then aye it could probably be called that.

Kind of meant clean slate in pre season with a new manager.

Calum was always going to start the season, captain etc.

No reason we shouldn't be looking for an upgrade on him either.

We should always be striving for better. Unfortunately no one really pushed him pre season to see if that was possible.

That’s actually fair enough mate but I just think we need to accept any manager or player who does well in our league now leaves. Some good points though.

I've said it a few times now and I appreciate he's not exactly the high profile, prolific striker we should be signing as a 1st 11 regular but while everyone raves about Duk, I really like Miovski.

I agree M8 it seems it's a Year or 2 at the most for managers never mind players nowadays, which is horrible, that's why I think anges way of setting up and playing was perfect for us.

We are massive in small pond, we need to be something different when we go to European level, crazy fast attacking and pressing whilst playing a total football philosophy gave us an edge in these big games that I'd never seen from us in modern games in europe. It would have got better in future seasons when we refined it and got better equipped players for it.

Buying ok decentish players and playing standard formations isn't gonna work at European level, we've been doing that for years it's been apparent the huge fees and wages the big leagues even the medium sized leagues are too rich for us, we need to be more than the sum of our parts

Couldn't watch the game because I was at work but pretty happy with that result. Getting what's probably our most tricky venue outside Glasgow over with nice and early and taking full points is a great result for me.

Miss the days where we'd take 18 to 20 goals a season off Aberdeen (while scoring 5 or 6 at Pittodrie) but full points is most important and thankfully we only have one more trip up there. Wonder if the Huns still give it "they * always lie down to Celtic". Well what about the league's so called third force: Hearts, they never have ago against the Huns no matter how bad recent Hun form has been and then of course there's Livingstone who despite often managing top 6 finishes still manage to * their pants Vs the Huns.

Similar game for me in an overall sense to last week albeit an improvement. We started poorly although not for as long as last week and overall we looked really good going forward at times scoring 3 goals and easily could have scored another couple yet at the other end we looked unsteady defensively at times albeit not as bad as last week. Hart in fairness to him had a decent game and got a good fist on quite a few crosses and corners. Clearly Aberdeen looked at that last week and felt it was an area they could hurt us but credit Hart he was much better today. Ralston looked much more like himself today. Still not 100% up to speed but much better then last week. CCV going off at half time with a hamstring is a major concern hopefully its nothing serious or we are in trouble there. While Taylor I am sorry to say it had what was nothing short of a nightmare. He got beat consistently 1v1 and gave the ball away so many times in bad spots. Really disappointing performance from Taylor. O'Riley by some distance was man of the match. Absolutely back to his best. He was superb. All in all credit to Aberdeen for really having a go and making it a good game. Having said that while we clearly are a long way off being settled into any kind of rhythm as a team we still without a doubt deserved the 3 points and thats a big 3 points on the road.
