been following the tic for over 35yrs now most inept bunch of defenders i have ever seen, i will excuse the young boy thompson actually feel sorry for him, but someone is guilty of gross mismanagement either lawell and the board or mowbary,i was not a fan of caldell or mcmanus but to let them go and no decent replacements has just handed the title to rangers.

Again something that the Mowbray fan club do not see......or get, this should have been his FIRST task....not signing Fortune (who is a good player and I am glad we have him!).

However 50p-heed-Caldwell and Mcnugget should have gone along time ago.....(mind you Caldwell was always a bawbag fas far as I'm concerned ).

Young Thompson is jst out of school and I hope he does well for us, and same for Rogne.

At least Hooiveld looks the part......need him back fast!

How we are left trying to squeeze Ramis in at the last minute as our 2nd main defender (and don't say Loovens he's a Frankenstien, even after his top class goal) * only knows........planning? foresight? whit?

I disagree... His first task which he accomplished , was to see what he had at his disposal and for that to happen he had to give all the players a chance in competitive games.. He did the right thing and by January he had a clear idea of what the squad was like..
Some of the same people that were saying Donati was a sand dancer the previous season were probably then slating Mowbray for selling him at the first opportunity..
He obviously played him in pre-season with a view to puting him in the shop window..

Last year we finished the season unable to buy a goal , and had we scored just the one goal in each of the last two matches then we'd have been champions , so people looking in from the outside would have thought we were shot shy..
That doesn't let our defence off the hook who (us , the fans) have seen make one *-up after another every other week for the best part of 2/3 years..
Had we got Levein or Hughes in as manager in the summer then they'd likely have changed the defence immediately because they've spent the last couple of seasons puting teams out to get the better of those very same duds..
Mowbray , coming straight To Celtic from another job didn't have the same luxury of having watched our defense get worse from the previous season and may have thought to himself he can make do with the three internationals in Mcmanus , Loovens , and Caldwell..
It's understandable that based on results (the majority of them from the previous season anyway) that a new manager felt the defence would be good enough for SPL duty and adding another striker would improve our chances of scoring and winning games.. TM definately failed in geting any kind of a partnership together from those 3 players , but my thinking was that he needed the time to see for himself how bad they were , and it certainly bought him the time he needed to put things right in January , but it doesn't excuse TM for some of his transfer dealings which involved punting players weeks before he was ready to replace them with his newly recruited Scandinavians , or players returning from injury..
There's no excuse why we didn't have fit and ready replacements , to step straight into the team immediately after Skippy was sent for his hernia operation , Caldwell and Robson were sold , and Mcmanus was sent on loan..

I feel we were at least 5 points worse of from August to January than we should have been , and we have been at least 10 points worse of since January the 1st than we should have been , so the real problem for me is that he hasn't got progress through results since the start of the transfer window almost 7 weeks ago.. I accept players need time to gel and injuries have played a massive part but it still isn't good enough... It's not a TM fanclub by the way.. It's supporters who don't spit the dummy when they aren't getting short term success , as they feel the manager will deliver success in the long term and feel that backing the manager is the right thing to do...

Yes they did but where's all the blue chip signings Lawwell used to to boast about. My concern is that come the summer when Robbie and Kamara return to England and we're left with what we have can you or anybody on this site honestly say that you believe they are capable of winning the league next season ?. I don't:54:

    Tactically Inept

Everyone who supports our Club must surely now realise that the League is over. Even if we beat the Huns twice, there is no way we will not drop further points with that clueless management team in place. If we all take our green tinted specs off and look at the main difference between Rangers and us, it is the management team. Walter Smith has built a "team" out of nothing and has installed a resilient must not lose mentality out of average footballers. We do not have one half decent defender on our books - Caddis is never a full back, Odea, Loovens are a joke, Hinkell is inconsistent, Naylor enough said and the new signings not any better than what we had before!! Cup is our only hope. If they win the Treble, and that is very much on the cards, Mowbray and his Team must go

You'd think mowbray would have geared the team twords defending and helping out the defence knowing we were weak in that area before kick-off but no he just keeps going with the same system and end up losing 4 goals. very smart manager we have here.

He's got an eye for a player but can't manage them.

totally agree, odea is usless, christ he couldn't get a game at Reading! As for Caddis, no way is he ever a full back - no height or strength and can't tackle

TM has had 7 months to get the defence sorted. You've got to question the coaching - this isn't just one game - it's been the story of the season - look at how many games that we snatched defeat/draw from the jaws of victory
