Na not sure if this game is any good for him.

Was very slow, takes multiple touches and went backwards most of the time. Great if we need to close out a game. No so much when we’re looking for a winner.

Fair enough that ball through at the end for Jackie was pretty good but that’s about it.

Correct! Had a minute to reflect on that myself, O'Riley was poor tonight overall

We legit bossed the game the last 30 mins because of mooy. Cal was getting merked.

I suppose I’ll not be able to prove otherwise but I’m not sure Mooy was the turning point.

Thought McGregor was pish overall tbh. Even when Mooy came on.

Is there to do the boring stuff, and does it well although he doesn’t suit quick football which is why he comes on with 60 mins gone and legs tired to take sting out of game and to control it.

that’s his job, whether we like it or not.

I always worry about him as hes slow and we basically only concede goals when teams cut through us on the counter and he'd have no chance of catching people but he's done well so far, that pass over the top was quality again, did one in one of the recent games as well maybe huns or one before. We actually play well I think when he slows it a bit and builds with more possession.

Sometimes we are too eager to cut through we give the ball away too much.

I thought he did well. Got stuck in when needed, is always well positioned (blocked a dangerous shot at one point) and that pass over the top had their keeper flapping.

Agree that we seemed to play better with him on. Given all the chances we've missed and how often we gave the ball away cheaply at times, I don't think adding his composure and experience is a bad thing, especially in the second half a tight games.

I honestly think he's been surprisingly good. Was expecting McCarthy mk.II but his balls over the top are actually really good.

    Just can't get enough
I read a story about the manager of Dormund wanting to drop Lambert before the CL because he didn't do enough.

The captain said, he's not there to do things he's there to stop the opposition doing things.

He wasn't dropped and Dortmund won the CL.

Not saying Mooy is the same, but I won't be writing him off.

Thought he was very good when he came on, hasn't had a bad game for me apart from his debut.

Recently he's been part of a double midfield change we're he comes on with Turnbull who is every bit as slow so we do then look slower but slightly unfair to blame it soley on him. Tbh Hatate is only 1 we have in there with pace so we always seem to drop off when he tires

Not sure what some people are watching, guy was brilliant when he came on, he's done more in both sub appearances than oriley has in his time, tbh Oriley needs dropped for next CL game, slow and cumbersome, been a huge let down. Think it's coming too early for him, his time will come I'm sure.

We really aren't, no creativity, slows the game down. He is a good player for when we are trying to see games out but that's all I see atm. Hope we strengthen midfield in January, need another creative AM to rotate with O'Riley. Not only to strengthen our attacking options through the middle. but I also feel O'Riley needs competition for his place like he had last year with Rogic. Mooy doesn't offer that.

I totally agree, and think that’s a great comment.

Hoping my first post didn’t come across as writing mooy off either as I’m nowhere near feeling that.

i 100% get why he is in the squad. I also think he is a shrewd signing tbh.

My main annoyance actually is McCarthy still. Just a waste of wage, would literally take 3 injuries before he even plays a friendly at the moment and that is straight up * insanity when mooy has clearly been taken in to fill a spot McCarthy should be filling,
