Hes got years left to go abroad for another big contract. Hes aussie mate, he could do another year in the middle east easy.

He is a total baller, that period of a few months when he was match fit and firing he took the entire team to the next level.

Can’t believe how passive people are towards him, he could be a huge player again next season.

Some of our best football this season was with him in the team.

    Really hope he doesn't retire

He was excellent at times last year but I think it might be right for both parties to not take up the extension, retirement or not.

Our midfield needs a major refresh tbh.

For a large part in the season he was a stand out. If he maintained his fitness we were looking at a potential POTS candidate.

The guy has proven he is still a player, we definitely should be trying to keep him for another year.

As someone who was skeptical when he signed I'm actually low key excited at the prospect of him with Rodgers for a year.

Everyone said Brown was a dead man walking before Rodgers arrived the last time and look what happened there.

    Same boat.

Wasn't impressed by this signing at all, especially first handful of appearances where he looked like he quite literally needed a * oil can to move his joints.

Fast forward a few months and he was simply fantastic.

As you say, Broony was done, finished, in many ppls eyes. Rodgers came in and absolutely transformed him. Rolled the clock back years and became a far more balanced player as well as a more intelligent one.

He could defo do the same for Mooy.

He’s been great overall, after a slow start. Love to see him get another year.

Like other members I must concede Mooy really grew on, thought we signed a donkey after the first few appearances but he come really good and was a pleasure to watch.

That being said, for some reason I have a gut feeling Mooy is one that Brendan probably won't keep. I don't really have any logical reason for it either other than I know Brendan spoke in his last tenure about stripping the squad numbers down and having quality ahead of quantity. Mooy might be a easy one to move on if Brendan goes with that train of thought, Mooy would find a new club very easily and isnt he on a contract where we can extend a year as opposed to a straight two year contract from the get go

I think we do need to trim our squad and bring in a few high quality signings to really push for starting places, however unless we sign 2 or so ready-made central midfielders, Mooy isn't one I'd be looking to move on.

It can be argued that our best performances last season came when Mooy was on form and he had a couple of really good showings against Sevco (along with one terrible one). I also think a slightly slower tempo game under Rodgers will suit him better, plus his experience could prove useful for the Champion's League.

Aaron Mooy is reportedly 'considering' his Celtic future following the arrival of Brendan Rodgers.

The former Brighton and Huddersfield star was signed for the Hoops by former boss Ange Postecoglou who has since left for Tottenham in the Premier League on a four-year deal. That has prompted the 32-year-old to weigh up his next move with a year still left on his Parkhead contract coinciding with Rodgers walking into the job as manager.

According to Mooy's pal and former Australia head of fitness and conditioning, Andrew Clark, the midfield playmaker could even be considering retirement as he puts together in his mind what might come next.

Clark said: "I’m not sure what his intentions are but he makes the game look so easy you’d think retirement might be a long way off yet.

“I’m not inside his head or his body to know exactly how he’s feeling. But I imagine to be back in Glasgow with his wife and kids after all the travelling the globe playing football must be a fantastic feeling.

“I’m just not sure but if he were to retire it would be a nice way to finish after that treble win. He started so young at St Mirren and has sort of come full circle."

    Would be a shame.

9 assists and 4 goals in the league last season despite only starting about 40% of the games.

Do feel if fit he can still offer something

It would be a shame to see him retire before his time. Hopefully the rumours about arthritis aren't true.

In terms us I don't know tbh once he got going he was very good and influencial but it was a very short 3 months spell and we can't be carrying a player that takes that long to get going and then sputters out before the end of the season.

So for me it's a matter of get him into pre season and see what Brendan thinks then hopefully decide from there. Wouldn't like Aaron to make a choice about his future before then.

Good thing is we now have a manager who really talks to players so if there is thoughts of retirement and there is something we can do then BR will get to bottom of it and we won't have a repeat of the Rogic situation from last year.

This is a difficult one as when fit he was a class player, however his fitness became a major issue towards the end of the season.

He is also meant to be on a decent salary for us so if he isn’t available it may be wages spent better elsewhere.

Mooy still has lots to offer. I sincerely hope he’s not got arthritis. I have it and it’s no fun.

I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy. Hang on I forgot about the scum support!
