You’re genuinely clueless about football if you believe a word of what you’ve typed there.

The Belgian league has loads of fantastic players in it. Like us, they’re a gateway to the top 5 leagues.

And I’ll repeat, our best defensive midfielder of the last 15 years was signed from a pish Belgian team.

    Thick as *.

As opposed to the Aussie fans logging onto Celtic Chat following seeing news of Mooy signing to see groundhog day and laughing their * off at you lot? Again, inside of 12 months?

To summarize CC in that time:

July 2013 - Who's this * ex-fustal Aussie kid. Not good enough for mighty Celtic.
July 2021 - Who's this fat no mark Aussie/Greek manager from Japan? Not good enough for Celtic, where's Eddie Howe, tears and tears for days..
July 2022 - Aaron Mooy is * *, he's not a patch on the the former * ex-fustal player, but we must trust the former * no mark manager from Japan that we doubted for months. Quotes such as "transfer window now ruined" aplenty

You guys certainly have a track record of good judgement with this so far.

    I'll enjoy revisiting in December.

You will no doubt forget next July when the next Aussie connection comes.

I’ve never seen Mooy play as I don’t watch EPL games that involve * like Huddersfield or that, so I’ll need to trust Ange on this one.

If Ange thinks he can offer something for a year then fair enough, his strike rate on transfers has been unreal.

The downside of it is it’ll likely mean we won’t be getting a proper DM in and will probably be going.

    McGregor/Mooy
    O’Riley/Turnbull - Hatate/Ideguchi

Which would be a big disappointment as it seemed like this was the year we were finally going to get a proper DM in.

Mark Lawwell not off to the greatest of starts.

The universe in which people have actually watched a lot of Mooy, and watched a lot of Rogic.

Rogic never played in the Prem. Mooy had clubs begging him to play.

Something well dodgy about this so-called story. Mooy was still six years away from being a Socceroo when he played for St Mirren.

Champions league guaranteed and looks like we've taken the cheap option.... again. Its a Celtic style deal.

Yes be bought CCV and Jota but let's be honest we can already triple our money on them so that was a no brainer even we couldn't * up.

We need a proper top class CDM and maybe one will still come in. Happy to be surprised by the board

well I'm sure you would prefer Ozil, but if it makes you feel better Aaron's nick name is Mooyzil

In all seriousness I think Mooy is a special player, reserve judgement until you see him up to speed. I am hoping he is used as a 10 in an attacking triangle next to a mobile 10 like Hatate

He’s another footballer who is very much talented and very much in my range, but that doesn’t mean we’re going to bring him in, no. Aaron’s a fantastic footballer, somebody I know really well. I’m sure he will get picked up, he’s a very talented player.
In terms of us, we have got a plan that we are sticking to and so far I am pretty happy with the progress we are making on all fronts and hopefully there will be some news coming out before the season starts. We are going through the process and making sure we get the ones that we need.”

Could someone explain why the prevailing notion on here is that we're signing this guy?

Ange has literally said no. Then goes onto clarify the no.

Dont see why there's a raging debate in here.

In terms of my own thoughts, i definitely wouldve taken him last year, as i thought he was the type if player we were missing.
But now, nope. Not for me.

Not what we need in terms of a centre mid.

    No resale value

    Not a great age.

Not played enough competitive games in the past two years.

Obviously, given the evidence above, some Aussie bhoys might bust a * over my nonchalance regarding what they see as a top class player, but the willingness to see this guy in hoops would appear to be a point of national pride in lieu of celtic first 11 requirements.

    Just my 2 cents.
