Tony Watt...Old enough if good enough..needs to have the hunger, if two Tonys work well together could be the start of something good:bbpd:

    Definitely give him a chance.
He surely can't do any worse than Hooper with his poor form recently.

It's a real shame Hooper has been * since Jan, and that he'll probably leave in a couple months, cos I think him and Tony could forge an excellent partnership. Gary always seemed to be teaching Tony and helping him through games, and I feel that Watt could be the strong, energetic runner, always hunting down defences and winning the ball deep, whilst Gary could just stand off and wait for the ball as he's a perfect poacher and finisher.

I think those 2 could combine great together but sadly we'll probably never see that partnership at its peak.

If Hooper does leave, we need to sign Russell, GMS and then blood Watt into a regular first team player next season.

A target man would be nice too :smiley-laughing002:

I've been crying out for this since Stokes came back from injury and Hooper lost interest. I think they'd link up v well. Also agree with Sean-CFC that if we bought Russell, he'd also link up well with Watt in future.

I don't see that as such an unrealistic wish-list, tbh. £5m (at the v most) would buy us Russell and GMS. £3m or less on a decent target-man and we're laughing. That level of money is what we should be looking to spend if we're selling in summer; as long as we're investing in players with good sell-on value.

What about Murphy & Bangura up top. That'd scare defenders shitless. Big Sebo is a free agent as well, he has SPL experience.

The sad thing is, although you're joking, we'd probably still win the current SPL with them playing :smiley-laughing002:

I would play Watt for sure in the remaining games. Also our other youngsters need gametime. Rogic,McGeouch, Twardzik....+ guys from development squad. I know some of them are injured, but with title in our hands we have gread opportunity to harden our youngs. Especially when we don't know who will leave us in summer.

I think Watt could be partnered with Stokes, but I would like to se him with Sammy or Atajic for one or two games.

Hopefully we see the Tony partnership for the final 4 league games now :50:
