Celtic and their fans like players for their ability.. so guys like him will always be admired for their skill but i don't think you will find many fans who agree with his views.

Fans will accept 'most' players if they give their all for the club... but people like Mark Viduka, great player by the way, was not wanted after spitting in the face of another player. there were other issues but that tipped it for most fans.

As previously mentioned there are many threads similar to this ie why do you support Celtic? If you really want to discuss the politics then you should go to the History & politics section... too many threads on the forum get derailed by political issues.... hang around TC and you will see what i mean

You may not be able to express your feelings for Celtic but it is not down to your use of english ... i am quite sure you would have the same difficulty expressing your thoughts for Celtic in your mother tongue.

    your passion shines through... :shamrock:

I remember the pride as a waine having my Celtic tap on, I had two footballs at the time, a ball with all the World Flags on and a gold Celtic baw, it was a * peach. * myself when it got kicked on the road , rear tire right over the ball and somehow the ball didnt burst. Solid!

Anyways, always wanted to wear my strip and kick my ball about, felt like a superstar with that on, imagining I was the Maestro.

I remember when I was a nipper, Peter Grant and Packie coming down to our church for the fete then going over to the blaze pitch for a kick about wae all the kids. Tremendous! Meeting some of your heroes at that age and talking about it, all your life.

Lying on the living room floor watching Anton Rogan miss a penalty against Aberdeen, seeing our club crest split in half in a newspaper, stopping 10IAR, in a bar in Cyprus watching us in Seville, Larsson leaving.... Tears everytime, happiness and sadness.

All of these experiences and many more create a bond between you, the club and the Celtic family as a whole because you know just having a chat with a fan you've never met before, you know that person has shared the same experiences in one way or another. Pure empathy.

Dad took me in early 60 s. We went to European nights in the 60 's. Best memory was European Cup semi vs Dukla Prague, Willie Wallace scored 2 and Jinky 1. Magic night.

Support Celtic because my Grandad is a Celtic fan and made sure I was brought up to support Celtic. I'm not sure I'd have stayed a supporter of any other club had I been brought up a supporter of say Liverpool or Man United. There's something special with Celtic. I feel I've a special connection and belonging as a supporter here.

Passion. My family are hardcore celtic fans(came over from Ireland and lived in the Gorbals and Govan) , runs in the blood I guess.IMO politics should never mix with football.

The History , The reasons it was founded, The family tradition, The causes, The Charitable donations, The reputation, The players from past generation, Heroes and the ability to support the club in its most trying times.

What other great players have said about the club. Pele, Iniesta, Xavi, Messi...It goes on and on.

I was taught to understand where we rose from as soon as i was old enough. The rest took care of itself.

    Hail Hail

A mixture of football, religious and political reasons. It's the mixture of all three that makes Celtic unique for me.

    Neither.

Celtic are my second team. I used to be crazy about them when I lived in Ireland, and when they had Boruc and Żurawski in their team. Then I came back to Poland, started working 12h/day, my daughter was born, so I had very little spare time and gradually lost touch with all things Celtic.

Still, I wish the Hoops all the best, and as I now have slightly more stable professional situation, I might as well start following Celtic matters more closely again. :)

I was born a celtic fan there was literally no other option for me . My grandfather on my mothers side bought me an arsenal kit when I was born and my dad threw it in fire. So you can see it was celtic or getting disowned. As I got older I love celtic for football reasons only still do never bought that politics and football *

    It's a magical club Cassarian :50:

it's a club born out of good will to others

a charitable cause to help the east end if Glasgow

127 years ago Brother Walfrid and friends decided to build something for the East end a lot of Irish settled in the East end of Glasgow and as is usual immigrants were not well liked, the protestant church of Scotland demonized the Irish folks therefore a lot of racism was prevalent
money from the takings of the club went to feed the poor, needy and hungry

anyway i fell in love with them when i was a young boy my family were protestants not crazy, but crazy enough that they hated Celtic and so when i was a young boy that made me love Celtic more :D

plus the green and white hoops were a standout and we were allways a team that scored goals we didn't care if we lost a goal we'd score more than them anyway lol that just what our style was

and when you step inside Celtic park it's the most spiritual place i have ever been in my life
Celtic is about love rangers are defined for their hate of us

I was born into a Hun season ticket family .
The reason why I love and watch the Tic are the friendship of the fans , We accept all regardless of race or religion and the Tic always played attractive open football to entertain the crowd .

Born into it. Was going over to watch games from 4 years old. At the start I didn't understand the football, but spent 90 minutes every game captivated by the sounds, the smells, the passions, shifts in patterns from the fans. As I got older and understood the game, the emotions and passion was already instilled. I feel I'm a decent person and have time for people of all ages, race, religion and colour. I feel this goodness in me has been instilled and moulded by this great club I follow. For my support and the love of my fellow fans and even the political stance of our support has made me a better person!

    Born into it.

Never made a conscious choice to start supporting Celtic.
