I'm sure they do, but i'm also sure that they won't have found the post in question funny, regardless of who it was meant for.

Just accept it that Lenny is loved and supported by the majority of the Celtic support, and that will always be the same, and as you are a Celtic fan i am sure you know why.

Fair enough. That was so polite and reasonable that I feel bad for using your last post to make my point now! Should have used someone more unreasonable to make an example of lol

Agree with almost all of this fully except for Burns.. i think he had the makings of a great Celtic manager but was let down by the financial constraints & some down right bad luck at times... otherwise i totally get your point & agree with it 100%.
Listen im catholic (lapsed) & a politically active Irish Republican but i know that for the sacred job as manager of my club i want the best FOOTBALL brain regardless of where he comes from!!!!

plus the fact he is an Irish catholic gives him total immunity from critisism.

    That's nonsense.

Lennon gets criticism just like McCourt, McGinn, Martin O'Neill..............

If you actually read other threads devlin you would have seen bobo use that vest for himself and others who dare to defy the usual * from a section of fans who see lenny as some sort of * and the board as feckin angels.

I'm not naive enough to think that slogan wasn't chosen for a reason. If we are standing side by side it means we are with him. By removing the word "with" it comes across as though we all have the same problem. And we don't.

To me Tommy Burns will always be my favourite Celtic person. His football and standard of players on the whole were on a level we can only dream about. He had a fatal flaw though that his teams were far better from CM forward while the defensive unit was a lot more SPL standard. He really believe in attacking football and spent most of the money on that part of the team. I feel bad mentioning him in the same breath as Barnes and Mogga but they all shared the football idealism thing. I remember he finally played a negative formation like 4-5-1 in an OF game and we looked far more able to cope with Rangers. If he had done that in more OF games and got a lot of 0-0 draws we would probably have won the title.

To be honest, it is still too soon to tell how we will do. If we go on a run in the league, including winning at Ibrox next month then there will be threads praising Neil again. Wim Jansen lost his first 2 league games away to Hibs and at home to Dunfermline which is maybe why I don't judge how the season will go this early. We are all angry after that performance at the weekend which is understandable, but whether you are a Lennon fan or not, he deserves more time than late August to judge how he will do this season.

As for the Sion result and the argument that no one had heard of them. Had anyone heard of Bratislava? As I have mentioned on other threads, perhaps we as fans underestimated this team because they play in the Swiss league. This is the same league that Xamax, Young Boys, Basle and Zurich play in, who have all beat us even when we had players like Henrik and Lubo.

I can see why you would need a flak jacket bobo cos i know ive personally been called a hun on here for daring to criticizing the appointment of Neil Lennon.. but i can see that the tide is finally turning & people are starting to see what we (and a few others) have been saying all along!

Apparently you are naive enough. It was a slogan that was chosen to stand up for Neil Lennon.

Just some examples i can recall of inexperienced managers being given a top job off the back of their playing careers, with a coaching badge or two thrown in.NL had a similar level of coaching experience to these guys before being appointed, so i personally dont go with the line that he was too inexperienced.I do think some managers develop earlier than others, but i dont accept it is a big risk taking on a rookie. If we lose the title this year, it will be a rookie on the other side of the city that will be winning the title....will that automatically mean McCoist is a good manager...of course it wont, same as losing it wont mean NL is a bad one.He may become better in later years, but how can you know this in advance? Its all a bit of a lottery choosing a manager.Ok, we lost out on experience....but we compensated with passion. We did the reverse with Mowbray and it didnt work out.
I myself am not sure either way, but i lean towards giving him the whole season and up until this time next year.I know losing the title would be awful, but i would still leave him there as long as we still looked good and went close again.I said earlier if we are way behind by Xmas, i would want him out....but only if we are getting humped....if not, let him stay and grow.

That is going a bit too far. I think its more his Mr Celtic aspect and his personality. I would like to think that only a minority of fans suffer from reverse-religious bias like that. I know some do because (slightly shockingly) a normally sensible poster posted that that mattered but I dont think it gives Lenny immunity. Didnt give Liam Brady immunity.

There is no doubt that you get the feeling more people are voicing concerns over the club in general.

Lennon may go on to be a world beater, who knows.

I certainly would not, under any circumstances have offered such a huge job to a rookie.

Good luck to him anyway, with our board, he'll need it :87:

Neil Lennon has the making of a good team here, and with the help of maybe another signing or two before the transfer window shuts, with decent signings, we can only improve further. Neil Lennon, stood by us, when, he could have easily walked, after all, he choose us. Neil Lennon, loves Celtic, as much as you, and me do, Lenny, will know when to walk away, he wont need told, by any of us. Lenny, I'm with you all the way :34:

Yeh and some posters on here can't see it when he does something right, no matter what he does, and just continues to focus on the negativity :87:

There is a very large amount of negative fans on here whether it be towards the board, manager or individual players.

I suspect (don't know) its the younger element of our support who were spolied under the MON time

Great post, agree with everything other than his religion. Don't know what that has to do with it.

thank * markybhoy that you did not interview jock stein for the managers job . i did not want neil lennon as celtic manager i wanted him to go elsewhere and learn and work his way up and then come to celtic as an experienced manager , having said that neil on the whole is making progress and i believe he will get his reward this season , he,s made mistakes some recent substitutions ,tactics have been strange to me but hey he,s the boss and it,s his call . no way should he be put under pressure by us at this stage but we can,t let neils future be dictated by his popularity with the support it will i am sure be decided by results and his ultimate success or lack of . the last two games have been dissapointing and clearly we missed kayal wilson and hooper the teams spine , so our pool is not as strong as we thought , we await your reaction mr lawell wheres the signings ?
