BT Sport will premiere the next instalment in its acclaimed BT Sport Films series, Iron Man: The Sean Fallon Story, on Thursday 25 May at 10pm on BT Sport 1

Adapted from, and building upon, the critically acclaimed book ‘Sean Fallon: Celtic’s Iron Man’ (published by BackPage Press), this film will explore the incredible life of one of football’s lesser-known heroes through interviews with the likes of Sir Alex Ferguson and Kenny Dalglish, archive footage, animated sequences and, by using an actor portraying Sean Fallon, quotes from the man himself.

The film will depict Fallon’s time as a young man in Ireland, realising his unlikely dream of signing for Celtic after being banned from playing Gaelic football. It will also trace his hugely successful partnership with the legendary Jock Stein, under which Celtic enjoyed unprecedented success, winning a record nine successive league titles and becoming the first British team to lift the European Cup.

Scouting and signing players was one of Fallon's most significant roles in that partnership, and the film will show how he emerged as Britain's greatest talent-spotter by bringing the likes of Dalglish, Danny McGrain, Paul McStay, Packie Bonner and several of those European Cup-winning Lisbon Lions to Celtic Park. Several major figures, including Sir Alex Ferguson - to whom the Irishman was a mentor - will also explain what Fallon meant to them, and how he impacted their lives and careers.

Just sat and watched the documentary that was on tonight on bbc with my auld man. My dad was 11 at the time but remembers the game etc very well , he is unwell at the moment in and out of hospital. Watching that tonight with my dad with a few cans , my dad with a tear in his eye was a very special moment. This is the most special club in the world.

Pretty emotional watching that documentary earlier.

What an achievement. Incredible. Not really many words I can use which haven't already been said, in order to do it justice.

Will never see anything like it again.

    The Celtic Story

A look at the history of the Glasgow club, from their conception as a charitable organisation to help Irish immigrants in Glasgow's East End, up to their glorious year of 1967 when they not only won all the available domestic trophies but also became the first British team to win the European Cup.

Very emotional show tonight. Fantastic work by the BBC.

Youngsters are flooding to the Premiership from every country in the world, but this club continues to pass Celtic down through families. Memories and stories of Lisbon play a massive part in that.
