    He's an absolute baller man.

Only he could put his hand on his chest a metre before the line as to say I'm the man, whilst slowing down for the camera still so that he's posing in it.

Mental to watch in slow motion, everycunt else is just staring forward/down and eyes nearly popping out their head. Bolt looks like hes watching himself on the big screens then starts to slow down and celebrate once he gets into 1st place while the rest still look like they are doing their very best.

It's a shame/a bit gutting to know we won't see him at another Olympics.

I got my team disqualified from the relay in my Primary 4 sports day for celebrating before I'd crossed the finish line. Just goes to show you the problem we have with sports coaching in this country. If Usain Bolt had grown up in Scotstoun we'd never have heard of him, apart from a brief mention in the Clydebank Post after getting a talking to from the police for throwing a mars bar at the Lord Provost.

I doubt very much he is the biggest earner, but he has to be the biggest star of world sport does he not?

Messi, Ronaldo, Lebron, Hamilton, Tiger, Djok or Fed......for me it has to be the Bolt.

I've never seen a sports star universally loved like Bolt, in every sport there's always the main man (or 2 possibly 3) that people either love or hate. With Bolt it seems that almost everyone absolutely loves him.

Yes, you cant imagine him being disliked. He seems so accessible too, which makes him the man of the people really. (although i hope he stops doing those * Virgin adverts!:smiley-laughing002:)

Probably cause we only see/hear him once a blue moon.

If we watched him 20/30/40/50/60 times a year like footballer, golfer, tennis players a lot would come to dislike him.

Nobody really dislikes any athletics guys when you think of it.

Oooh....i beg to differ. In the Coe/Ovett era you definitely didnt like one or the other.

Linford Christie was never popular, nor was Carl Lewis even though they were top athletes, but i take your point.

Hats off to Wayde van Niekirk, smashed the long-standing 1999 WR in the 400m to win gold. Harder race than Bolt imo as he had two genuine threats to contend with in Merritt and James whereas Bolt only had an ageing Gatlin.

Big boat medals aren't as impressive as singles/doubles medals, far less competition. Names like Brennan and Drysdale will always carry more weight than any member of an eight. The * * gets a medal as well, I get that they do a bit of work but it still doesn't seem right.

Well aren't you a cheery *. Considering my school has less than 3000 students, I was quite impressed that we had such an achievement tied to us. But hey ho, I guess anyone can win Olympic gold
