Celtic vs Dundalk would be the ideal draw for both clubs. Celtic should have too much for them over 2 legs, but Dundalk would fancy their chances. Celtic will have a massive advantage because it will be played in the Aviva. It won't be a typical European away day.

I'd rather they avoided eachother . I don't like the fact Dundalk could dominate domestically, but an Irish club in the Champions League would be huge , but wouldn't change many peoples opinions of the LOI. It won't do anything for my LOI team but I still hope they go through.

I don't fancy see many more arguments between Irish Celtic fans and LOI fans. Both sides were giving eachother abuse but some of the tweets from Celtic fans were embarrassing. I don't want 2 weeks of that *.

I'll quoate them for you. The majority are in response to LOI fans fans saying Dundalk could beat Celtic

"* britain an * you tiofaidh ar la you hun scum"

"They are insecure about their Irishness Celtic are the real Irish club here lets be honest

"How many Irish teams commemorate the famine every year? none"

    * Dundalk and * the LOI, tried my best to respect it but not having this anti Celtic * anymore."

The bloke who sent most of those tweets was from Cork. He's obviously easily wound up.. I also seen another tweet from a Celtic fan accusing an LOI fan of being a Sevco fan and called him scum. He also called the LOI a mickey mouse league.

These are Irish people slagging their own league. A league that has produced good Irish players with little help from the public or FAI.
Do you not think it's embarrassing?

We got a decent two draws in the last two seasons against sides we can't really complain about and whom we should have beaten convincingly in Maribor and Malmo over two legs.

It will be asking a lot for this draw for a third year running at this stage to be kind to us as well.

I'd love Dundalk as much as the next person, but it really is vital we avoid Ludogorets (Who gave Brendan's Liverpool nightmares) no matter what.

I'd settle for Copenhagen, Beer Sheeva or Dinamo Zagreb with the 2nd leg at our home ground to give us that advantage. That's not being too greedy imo.

If we draw Ludogorets though I fear for the tie a bit, especially if Roberts doesn't make it. Also important to get Erik and Bitton back fit for this tie.

I hadn't seen any tweets, but yeah they are embarrassing. However like a few have said, Twitter is full of dickheads from every set of fans. It's not something to get worked up about.

Let it go mate, it was penalties anyway and they thought they'd pump us and were wrong.

I personally don't want to get ahead of myself, but if we do make it this year then I would like to draw Spurs, would see the return of Big Vic and would like to experience a CL game against Tottenham home and away as well.
Yes, yes I do. I'm Scottish but our league over the last 20 years or so at least has produced nowhere near the same talent as the LOI. For a league which gets practically zero respect and zero financing that's pretty good going.

Indeed he is not mate. :icon_mrgreen:
Trust me mate we want to avoid Ludgorets like the plague here. Copenhagen would be a lot more winnable than them, still tough but far more achievable.

We need signings. Sinclair and Duljevic would be massive for us going into the next round. With both Roberts and Griffiths question marks, we need to have strong options in attack which we don't have if they aren't fully fit.

I know mate, feel the same, boring as *.

Want something completely different from the usual sides we've faced in the past if we make it.

I know it's tempting fate talking about the groups but I'd quite like Dortmund (or even Bayern), an Italian side and an English side. Different to the groups we've had the last couple of times and would be good away trips.
