Basically the SFA are blaming Celtic for getting fewer tickets because it's were the Celtic fans usually sit.
    What a load of bullshit.

It would be financially viable if they increased the capacity to about 70,000 but also sort out the restricted views to make sure EVERYONE gets a perfect view of the stadium without having their view restricted by pillars.
If that was sorted then Celtic Park would then qualify as one of the stadiums to be able to hold a Champions League and Europa League final.
The money taken for that would cover most of the cost of the development of the main stand and the removal of the pillars.

TICKETS are now on sale for qualifying Season Ticket holders to secure their seat for the William Hill Scottish Cup final against Aberdeen on Saturday, May 27 (KO:3pm).

The club does not have a sufficient allocation of tickets to offer a ticket for the final to all those Season Ticket holders who purchased a ticket for the William Hill Scottish Cup semi-final on April 23.

    - The remaining tickets have been balloted amongst those Season Ticket holders not on the Home Cup Ticket Scheme, who purchased tickets for each round versus Albion Rovers, Inverness CT, St Mirren and Rangers.

THE DEADLINE FOR THOSE WHO MEET THE CRITERIA TO PURCHASE TICKETS IS 5PM ON FRIDAY, MAY 12.

    Tickets are priced as follows:

    South Stand - £35 for Adults, £20 for Concessions†

    North Stand - £35 for Adults, £20 for Concessions†

East Stand - £30 for Adults and £15 for Concessions†

Aye it's a pain in the *, but nearly 7000 tickets above their average attendance is a joke, but I suppose it's just the way it is.

I just asked as you said it would be financially viable. I have my doubts tbh and would also imagine an extra 10k wouldn't be used that often either.

Reason i thought it would be viable is the amount of money Celtic would receive if they were to host a CL or EL final.
Not sure how much they would get but i thought it would be a lot.

Has anyone ever sat in the away end for a cup final?

Sounds like season ticket holders are taking up their allocation and trying to pass them off already knowing they aren't going. *

We'd never be allowed to host a European final. You have to be nominated by your national FA.

Celtic have to ask the SFA which would put them in a sticky position as they could not possibly come up with a reasonable excuse Not to put Celtic forward to host a European final.
If they refused then Celtic would make it extremely embarrassing for the SFA if it was to come out that they didn't want Celtic to host a final.

Aye but if Celtic Park became the new national stadium then it wouldn't be in competition with Hampden anymore.

SFA lease is up in 2020. After that they have the choice of continuing to lease a * stadium, buy it off Queen's Park then rebuild it (which will cost millions they don't have) or build a new stadium elsewhere (see above regarding millions).

But if Celtic said "we'll increase capacity of Celtic Park and by upgrading the main stand - media facilities, changing rooms, warm up area etc it becomes a five star stadium, you pay us a fee to host internationals and cup finals here and put us forward for European finals" it's a win-win for both. Saves the SFA a fortune and Celtic benefit in long run.

I was getting my haircut this morning and the linesman tonight was getting his done before me. The barber (my mate) and the other one told me he was the referee tonight but he was defo the linesman. Think his name is Crawford Allan. Was having a wee chat with him.

He seemed alright th and I told him I've no agenda against the refs cos their jobs are hard enough but don't let them kick our * in tonight as we've had it all season.

    Cool story bro, I know.

We really missed Broonie tonight, the midfield always seems light weight without him in it.
