I wasn't being serious about someone just realising that! But I do think the overriding factor for having a game then at Celtic Park is to fulfill season ticket requirements and to not leave us in the situation we were back in 2009/10.

Fs thank * our squad is massive, this schedule would have put Sevcos squad into early retirement. :smiley-laughing002:

Brendan will want to give all the players a chance to prove themselves, our team is huge so he needs a lot of games to check them all out and decide who is staying and who is going, also test out different formations and tactics.

To be honest it wouldn't have been 'early' retirement for most of them :smiley-laughing002:

people that are against all these friendlies are forgetting how bloated our midfield is.this is perfect for brendan rodgers to sieve through the * and get his best lineup.and a chance for all the players who were blowing out there * last year to get up to fitness.

still dont understand why people were arguing black as white that the team was fitter than ever myth last year, despite the evidence on the park that it was the worst the fitness has been in years.

also how much i want to be in the champions league this year, these friendlies against wolfsburg, inter, barcelona, leicester might be the closest player wise we will get to it.its a hard task for any manager getting to champions league.still dont think any celtic manager in history has got there on there first attempt at the qaulifiers.so its a major ask no matter how easy a lot fans think it is.

We need these games to get the fitness up! Could not give a flying * what the resulys are, first time in a very long time the buzz is back and we could do some great things under Rodgers.

BRENDAN Rodgers’ first game at Celtic Park will be a glamour friendly match against top German side, VfL Wolfsburg on Saturday, July 16 (KO: 3pm).
And Celtic supporters can pack out Paradise as the game is included as part of the season ticket for 2016/17.
Fans turned out in their thousands to greet the manager when he was officially unveiled as Celtic manager last month, and many thousands more are sure to be at the stadium to cheer on the Irishman and his team for their first match at Celtic Park.
Wolfsburg are one of the Bundesliga’s top teams and are sure to provide a tough test for Brendan Rodgers’s side, with the friendly game sandwiched between the two legs of Celtic’s UEFA Champions League second round qualifier.
The Hoops are currently at a pre-season training camp in Slovenia, and recorded a 2-2 draw against NK Celje in their first game, with Nadir Ciftci and Tom Rogic scoring the goals which brought the team back into the match after they trailed 2-0.
They have three more friendly matches before facing the winners of the Champions League game between Flora Tallinn of Estonia and Lincoln Red Imps of Gibraltar.
You can be there for Brendan Rodgers’ first match at Celtic Park and cheer on the Hoops against Wolfsburg on Saturday, July 16, and back the Bhoys throughout this campaign as they go for six-in-a-row with a 2016/17 season ticket. For more information CLICK HERE

I have Celtic on basically all the social media platforms and the snapchat is quite good for getting an insight into the training camp out in Slovenia.

Any of you think it looks pretty budget and low cost?

They're all staying in the best hotel in Maribor as far as I'm aware and that's the closest football training facilities to it.

If this is what budget accommodation looks like in Glasgow, then I'm afraid I won't even be able to afford a hostel room if I ever decide to visit.:icon_mrgreen:

I think it's more the training facilities than the hotel. I think so anyway, I thought something similar about the training ground.
