You will be surprised at the level of brain washing/chip on the shoulder some Scots have.
IF we pummel them next week, come the Scots Parliament elections they will be back as if nothing happened.

Miliband had to say that.It was a last desperate attempt to convince Scottish people that voting SNP will not be a way into No10 via the back door, like the Liberals last time.

His people obviously believe many people up here have moved to the SNP fully believing a coalition will happen........and this is a full commitment to the policy of no SNP coalition, which they hope will turn many SNP voters(or just enough of them)back to Labour, to prevent the Tories winning again.
He has to do this, i dont know why people are slating him for it.....he was backed into a corner and it is a risky but fair policy.

I think the belief is that this may not be the only election in the next year or 2, and if it backfires and they dont win on their own, they can assess public opinion and go back on this pledge for the next one.

Dear oh dear. Ed Miliband really has got himself into a pickle hasn't he. He HAS to say he won't do a deal with the SNP because 'Jockophobia' is in full swing south of the border and he knows a huge amount of voters in England are appalled at the thought of the SNP having any power at Westminster. Better Together? That's a laugh.

The problem for poor Eddy boy is, by saying he'd rather let the Tories back into Downing Street than do a deal with the SNP, he is slitting the Liebour Party's throat in Scotland. He has, rather remarkably, managed to box himself into a situation where no matter what he says he can't win.

When it comes to political chicanery it would appear Ed Miliband still has a lot to learn.

The thing is though, come May 8th, he is going to look like an even bigger idiot than he does already, because if he wants to be PM, the Labour Party will have to sit at the negotiating table with the SNP.

You have a point but I think it's aimed in the other direction. His strategic advisors must now realize that they have lost Scotland, I think this is aimed more at English Labour voters that are swaying towards the Conservative rather than see the SNP in power.

Regardless, the comments are an affront to the intelligence of voters in Scotland and the democratic will of Scotland.

We're heading for a hung parliament.

Miliband has backed himself into a corner.

I hope one of my clients gets a letter like this from a labour candidate. Although an official complaint wont be acted on in time now. Utter lies.

Always the tories, some Scots just cant help themselves :52:
I mean its not as thou ed has ruled out any deal with the SNP ..

So, do either of the plums (Cameron or Milliband) call it quits and step down as leaders if they lose, anyone think?

Am sure there was talk of Cameron not actually finishing a full term as PM if the tories win (he did clear it up and said he would) So I would imagine he is a shoe in to step aside if they lose.
Ed is a liability and will be replaced no matter what he wants :smiley-laughing002:
Would expect David (brother) to replace him.

I'm now conflicted in who to vote for.
I like Jim Murphy but Ed Milliband as prime minister screams disaster.
    Tories no
    SNP no
UKIP agree with his ideas about Europe but in the end they are full of ex Tories so no
    Liberals no

    Might vote for myself

This leader's debate is getting a bit spiky. Jim Murphy coming across as an argumentative tossrag.
