Got my postal vote through on Friday. will have to look at the greens policies as I definitely won't be voting for any of the others. I have already put a big cross next to the rest while I think about it.

Sorry, dude, I was in Edinburgh yesterday with the missus, so a little preoccupied.

Oh Christ! :56: C'mon you need to investigate these things. That 1999 border line is a joke! How can you possibly not see that as a pure bit of propaganda garbage. Something happens - in this case - they set the maritime border - and then the opposite party attach some paranoid reason that they are out to steal they oil. How can they do this? Well, most people are not furnished with how a maritime border is drawn up. This logic Seems fair, yes? It's not something anyone studies intently. Within that space that's were these myths grow, they can attach any reason or motivation behind it they want. And some believe them without looking on it with a critical eye. This is one of these myths. The maritime border was made along the guidelines set out by the UN. You take the border and extend it out, giving you an equal distance of points from the shore of both nations. The fact that we are discussing such outrageously absurd things and that people use it as a reason for independence should demonstrate that something rather strange is going on, no?

Scotland has got major devolution and more devolution. Income tax is a huge piece of devolution. Each manifesto contains strategies to extend that devolution. Even the conservatives.
The EU question was a big question that remained unanswered. The EU did not say Scotland would be let in and it was arrogant of them to think they would. And would you want to be in the EU anyway? These were real questions that went were not broached. But where excused as being part "fear". Sorry, you can't just cast them away.

How will not having nuclear weapons mean Scotland will not be a target in a nuclear apocalypse? Glasgow has always been on the first strike list since the start of the Cold War because it is the strongest urban centre North of Manchester, industry, population, finance, major government departments, transport hub and major centre of telecommunications. Is London not a target because it doesn't have a submarine base, Manchester, or Birmingham for that matter? And please tell me how what you are saying isn't based on fear? You're justifying an argument via a nuclear apocalypse! How is that not fear? "If you vote no; you will get vaporised by the Ruskies" I mean cmon, bro! :56:

On the immigrant debate. I think it's fair that they should speak English to a certain level, particularly if they are nurses and what not. Most of the immigrants I know, Polish cleaners and Iraqi asylum seekers in Arden, it wasn't overly necessary. They are usually just here to give their families a chance.

What is the point in a 100 billion quid weapon that even our enemies know will only be used on the day the world is destroyed and indeed would be pointless in using even if we were nuked unless you believe in pointless revenge. The US hold the codes and the US also controls all the refitting, repairs, maintenance etc so its not an independent deterrent. Its basically a miniscule but expensive outlier of the US defense system which we pay for. Far better to have a very strong conventional airforce, navy and army in the UK which also will lead to more jobs than the highly specialised and often US-based work involved in maintaining Trident. IF we had a nuclear deterrent it should be a shared EU thing and kept somewhere like eastern Europe.

Appeal to those not voting - dont be plonkers if you are Scottish based. This is the best chance of WM elections being meaniful in decades to Scots.

Appeal to people voting Scotsgreens or SSP - dont waste your WM vote and divide the yes camp. The SNP want an end to first past the post but until we have that then it is best to save votes for smaller Scottish parties to the Holyrood elections next year. There are several constituencies where the SNP are only a point or two in the lead or a point or two behind -splitting could let Murphy back in or Tories or Libs in some constituencies.

Why move the maritime border at all ? You do know that there are 7 oilfields in that Area. The value/revenue of these could then not be used in the GDP of an Independent Scotland. The line was redrawn for one purpose and one purpose only. :47: But aye you are right propaganda :86:

Why base it in Eastern Europe ?

Trickle up economics works far better than trickle down. Make sure most of the pop has a decent living wage and more money to spend and some tax take from them instead of our taxes being used to supplement min wage people who pay little or no tax and the profits of that support going to shareholders, directors and exec dividends and bonuses. Anyone in a small business will tell you how important it is that Joe Blogs has some spare cash rather than hording it in the top 2pc. When wages are low and terms uncertain people cant or are too scared to spend. Support the small businesses not just the mega corporations. The SNP have given measures to support small businesses and IMO are a pretty business savvy party who know that all the free stuff relies on tax reciepts and lowering our taxes supplimenting the working poor on min wages.

You're way off base. One, we are not talking about its independence. Two, they have historically kept peace in Europe, any open conflict on the great northern European plain never materialised due to the nuclear deterrent In this regard, they have kept the peace, but only at the prospect of complete annihilation. Three, a conventional force is secondary to cyberwarfare and unmanned aircraft capabilities. The question should be, what is the point of having a nuclear deterrent if foreign powers can hack and disable it? Personally, you need to maintain both.

"Pointless revenge"? I think this sums up your position. It's rather short and is populist "if you hate killing people and nuclear war then vote yes". Well everyone hates people dying, but you say this, but without them we would have had a huge conflict between East and west; hundreds of millions dead. Was it morally right to save hundreds of millions of lives on the threat of losing billions? It's morally repugnant, but where do you stand morally? If you hate carnage so much, surely you have to acknowledge the historical function in maintaining the peace they have provided? Would you rather lha e lost hundreds of millions but not have the risk, or keep hundreds of millions alive, but under the coercion of losing the lot? We are too pathetic as a species, our stock is too small to maintain peace without a severe threat. Too many people want what you have. Depressing, I know, and I'm sorry for that.

Nice straw man argument, dude. You keep saying this; passing anything I say off as "drummed up bullshit". But I have recognised the drummed up bullshit in the No campaign and the drummed up bullshit in the separatist campaign. As a rule, I generally believe something to be a lie and then test it's validity. You are the one who is enthralled to drummed up bullshit believing anything that appears antiWestminister.
