Aberdeen have massive potential if they get a bit of money behind them.

Can't understand why there is no confirmation of a home tie for second leg for seeded teams.

I looked through the rules for this season and was no mention that seeded teams were away first in the play-off round.

They did mention it for the CL Last 16 though, that Group runners-up play the Last 16 match at home first.

Can't happen. Even if Sevco reach the standard of Rangers, Scotland will never have 2 teams in the CL again IMO, let alone Aberdeen. Assuming we even get our coefficient high enough, the league route is just too * hard. More chance of Aberdeen winning the title than qualifying through the league route.

Think he meant the Group Stages of the Europa League

We got 0.500 points for the draw tonight which means we now have a grand total of 39.325 points and are ranked at 43rd.

But a good European run this year would see us jump about 10 places up as about 7 or 8 of the teams currently above us will lose a lot of points next season.

Agree but think he'll have meant the Europa League group stage. For Aberdeen that's a lot of dosh.

Ah, right. Yeah, I'm really desperate for them to make it, quite genuinely. Scottish football needs it.

Scottish football really * itself when we lost the second champions league entry. When one of us was automatically in, then the second place only needed a qualifier or something - that was pretty dandy.

That alone will stop Spivco ever attaining our level. They need CL cash to come near us and yet to get their they are going to have to overthrow us and take 1st.

It does seem that the seeded team is always at home for the 2nd leg at this stage but there doesn't seem to be any official confirmation anywhere that this is indeed the rules.

Skanderbeu all the way, but all the teams will be hoping for them, in truth I think we would take any of them over 2 legs, Partizan I saw twice in the flesh last season and thought they were nothing to write home about in any way

Even then, they'll still have to navigate through 3 tricky rounds to get the pot of gold that they need.

I was meaning the increased revenue for the Europa league groups, would be a right good money maker for Aberdeen.

Had a quick look at the Europa league seeded teams, deary me Aberdeen have a tougher lot of teams than us if they where to win through tomorrow night.

Dortmund,Salzburg and Ajax just to name a few.

They would need a massive break in the draw to have a chance, probably only a few teams they could beat,Copenhagen,Rosenburg and Lech Poznan.

    * me, poor sheep. :smiley-laughing002::bbpd:

Like you say, hopefully they get lucky and get a team closer to their level. (That's if they even make it through tomorrow)

    I really don't want Malmo.

Two years in a row now they have pumped Salzburg. Skenderbeu or Astana please.

Yeah, same here! ... £4/5m minimum for them making the groups, would be massive.
