We were at our weakest last year when we met these teams - Saltzburg, Legia, Maribor. We were totally lost. New manager, players were uneasy, a radical new style of play, unrest in the dressing room...

    Gradually we got better.

Today we are a totally different team.

We will steamroll these mid-European teams.

That wasn't the fault of the players at our disposal though. It was the combination of all the things you mentioned.

The players we had last season were better equipped for the qualifiers, having been there and better already in the past.

Seems we agree then, on these things, Daleer.

Steamroller who ? Where is the evidence for this ?

I am a massive fan of Ronny and I was one of the ones who kept the faith with him at the start. He's built a good wee team on a reduced budget but expecting us to steamroller any decent teams is unrealistic and unfair I think.

Personally I expect us comeback as a team more like the team that was an off day from Craig Gordon off putting inter out than the one that took the field against maribor or even the team that played in the groups. Since the new year we've been a different animal to that of 2014 and if we can upto speed and to the level we were at a couple of months ago I dont think we've anything to worry about.

Can never be certain with these games this early in the season. Fully expect us to win, but won't rule out a minor upset

We should be aiming to steamroll these mid-European teams: Maribor, Rosenborg, Legia, Copenhagen, Helsinki, Malmo, Etc, etc.

Pretty much think some of these are our peers right now. WE ARE a mid level European team. Mental to think we should 'steamroller' Rosenborg, Legia, Copenhagen or Malmo.

This is the level we're at. We 'should' beat the likes of Helsinki and Maribor 7 or 8 times out of 10 but to say we'd steamroll, even those 2, is a bit disrespectful and ever so slightly unrealistic.

I'm not saying that can't change, (in Ronny we trust) but right now, that's where we are. We don't have 3 qualifiers for nothing...........

Aye, these teams don't get steamrollered much anymore, never mind from us. Im happy to scrape my way into the group stages.

Shortly after I posted that, I went to look him up to see where he was. Like Pukki, it seems he's found his level.

I'm worried about Qarabagh. If they managed to beat Dnipro, Salzburg and Inter they might be able to beat us.
Are they still as strong right now? Wondering why they couldn't beat that Montenegrin team

Sweden being a lower level than Scotland?

Malmo dumped out Sparta Prague and Salzburg in the qualifiers last year. No a bad level.
