2015-16 UEFA Champions League Qualifiers

See those teams though, the playoff round teams, they're the kind of teams that we'd be looking to take 4-6 points off in drawn together at the group stages. I totally agree, as a playoff opponent they look tricky, but they are a level below where we should be playing at - back to the days of challenging for the last 16. Need to be putting teams like this away.

With all respect to Qarabag if we dont beat them we dont deserve to be in neither the CL or EL.

The fact we have to play so many qualifiers is a joke, * yer country coefficient. Wish it went more on the individual clubs results.

 

I'm just quite happy at this stage to think we should definitely have a European group stage coming up, even if it's only the Europa league. Can't see us having any serious difficulty getting through this and the next round.

As for the teams we'd get if the seeds all make it through? Maribor is a shoe-in wish. I reckon it's 3 categories:

Good draw - Maribor
OK draw - APOEL and Zagreb
Tough draw - Bate and Ludogrets

But I'd like to think we could take all 5.

But I'm still hoping that Dundalk and TNS make it through their rounds and we get the winner of that tie...

 

Dinamo Zagreb drew at home against a team from Luxembourg called Fola Esch.

APOEL drew at home to some Macedonian team called Vardar.

And BATE Borisov just managed to beat Dundalk.

You would at least think that Celtic would get a bit of credit from the Scottish media for the job Celtic is doing for the rest of Scottish football. I must admit I am not seeing much credit given. Then again I am not that familiar with the Scottish media.

 

True but like us, this is early for those teams. They aren't up to full speed yet.

Mind you, if we are on our game in these qualifiers then I fully believe we'll get through.

 

Just looking at the teams that have already qualified for the champions league and the new pot system.

If we did get there we could end up in a group with Real Madrid, Arsenal & Roma or Barcelona, Man City & Wolfsburg. :smiley-laughing002:

I'd love to play in that 'stadium'. Looks like the area is beautiful.

It's club football so it should be club co-efficients.

 

Yes, but then we'd be higher seeds than the likes of Man City, and there's no way that the money men are going to allow that to happen.
Fair seeding would require a fair system, and we ain't got that,and i doubt we ever will again...

 

I've been following on here for a while now but thought I may as well start posting since it's a new season. I was looking at this Montenegrin mobs stadium thinking it looks a bit * for European competition so I went on soccerway to see where they're playing Qarabag and it has them down playing at this ground. Must be a * take surely?
