I can't imagine Malmö having players as good as Gordon, Lustig, Van Dijk, Boyata, Bitton, Brown, Johansen. Doesn't mean they won't lose a threat, I think it'll be tough but I'm confident.

What I said above is based on watching Malmö a limited amount of times, I've maybe only seen around 10 of their games in relatively recent times so I understand their side may have changed. However, at home against Zalgiris they were terrible I thought.

Still deserve a lot of respect and I think it'll be closely fought. May the best team win and welcome to all you Malmö * :50:

He's in amongst that group but I was trying to remove personal opinion.

Bitton will prove his worth to everyone when we get to the big table :50:

    * him, we've got Ronny Deila! Plus we're a completely different side to the one who played helsingborgs, and far better than last year. If this is why we confident he's not done his homework.

Apart from Rosenberg who almost 33, the only other Malmo player I know is Lewicki who I see at the U21 tournament a few weeks ago, he was one of the best players - looked a more defensive midfielder who sat deeper in midfield but all the play went through him and he kept possession and moved the ball about well. Id sign him if we could, he would be good competition for Brown and Bitton.

Malmö have done a lot of bad games this season. When they play good they are really good and when it doesn't work it's sooo bad. I think a lot is attitude. They don't think they need to fight in some games. And then it's almost a whole new team (a lot of the better) but it takes time to play as a team.

But in these big games they fight until death :97:

Fair enough mate. As I said I still think Malmö deserve a lot of respect at the same time. :50:

I saw one of your players saying we would be very physical and play loads of long balls etc.

    We don't play that way..

Virgil Van Dijk will be a star. But you're right we are all about the team ethic, pressing and countering with pace.

    What formation do Malmo play?

Their league form this season is a * of a lot worse than I thought, 6th in the league and only 1 win in their last five.

Did they lose a few players before the start of their season ?

Tough draw. Won't be easy to go over there.

No idea why alot of their fans and coach are so confident though, they obviously think we are the same team as last year.

    Let them. I say.

They also appear to have lost Helander and Johansson from their defence. They do have a few dangerous players though. Rosenborg is experienced although not as great as he once might have been. Molins and Eikrem as well.

I mind the previous games against Helsingborg and Elfsborg their fans came on here and were confident as well and I dont think they even scored a goal against us.

Probably a European thing(was even the same when we've played Legia, Maribor, Shakhter and Qarabag), they are confident in their own teams and Leagues were as we heap pressure on ourselves and talk ourselves down and rip the pish out ourselves - probably why our diddy teams always get pumped out.

    True.

They seem to think we are complete diddies though:smiley-laughing002:. Not just Malmo but European sides in general. Most sides want to draw us in these qualifiers now which I find quite funny. Last year I could understand their confidence but we have changed alot since then.

Hopefully they still think we are *. The fact that Berget is one of their top performers gives me a bit of confidence. I didn't think he was that bad but not a player to be feared by any means.

The fact that fans(and manager it would seem) of a side like Malmo are confident of coming to Celtic Park and getting a good result is interesting.

Come ahead ya meatball eatin' *! (no offence to our Swedish tims on here:56:)

We are of course not certain to win but we have a good confident. Last year no one thought we would beat Sparta Praha but we did. No one thought we would beat Red Bull but we did.

Then everybody said that we wouldn't take any points in our group but we did. We actually played very well at home and should probably got a draw against Athletico and we were very close to win against Olympiacos away and end up 3:rd in the group.

This have strengthen us and gave us courage and we know that everything can happen. We know it will be tough but we made it before. When the whole city, supporters, club and players believe in it we can do it

We lost Helander and Johansson but we got Bengtsson (Twente) and Arnarson (Rotherham) that are equal in quality. Not as big potential as Helander and Johansson but more routine.

So it will be two good fights :50:

No Celtic is a good team (maybe not as good as they once been) but the league sucks. Can't be fun not having any competition

Meatball is tasty so no offence taken :bbpd:

Don't know really. Guaranteed European football every year ain't half bad. :50:

Our league is poor yes but from what I'm led to believe the Scandinavian leagues are just as poor.

See Mo Bangura and Jo Inge Berget destroying your league as prime examples. Both flopped here.

Morten Rasmussen from Denmark is another who never looked like succeeding here. Excellent record in their Superliga though.

Our league has nothing to do with it, though. All you have to worry about is how good we are, as you said.

I'm cautious of course but way more confident about facing these than Qarabag just gone.

We know the Scandinavian model inside out. With Ronny's knowledge as manager and as a native and with our recent playing experience over the past few seasons.

If Berget is one of their best players, what does that say about their overall ability?

I can see us putting 3 or 4 past these over two legs.
