James Rodriguez has to win the golden ball. He carried that Colombia team (as talented as the rest of them are).

Neymar didn't do anything in the 210 minutes of knockout games. Brazil fluked their way to the semi.

I don't think he carried the team by himself. Cuadrado was fantastic I thought. Yepes played amazingly and didn't look anything like the cupboard he really is. Aguilar combined good defensive and attacking play. They had a better overall balance of experience and talent than the Netherlands did.

Yet they couldn't beat what is hindsight was a terrible Brazil side will the Netherlands (A weaker overall team) pushed Argentina all the way to the lottery.

Being kicked off the park by the hosts who had the refs in their favour didn't help.

We could swap Neymar for Thiago Silva and his defensive organisation. It all fell apart when he wasn't there.

But didn't do "anything" in the knock out rounds. A bit harsh I think.

Had a couple of chances in the first half against Chile. Notably had an excellent first touch to put himself through, then delayed the shot because he was waiting to go down and get the defender sent off. Totally anonymous from the second half onwards. Did nothing against Colombia. Didn't turn up in the games that mattered like he did at Barcelona.

He kept running and putting himself out there for his team but yes, he wasn't hugely outstanding.

Was in getting a haircut the day and the guy was telling me someone put that on. * mental. Why the * did he/she pick 7-1, they must have dreamt it the night before:smiley-laughing002:

Unless the the person new Germany would win but thought Brazil would nick a goal so stuck £20 each on 2-1 3-1 4-1 5-1 6-1 7-1 maybe up to 10-1, can't think of any other reason:smiley-laughing002:

Will probably watch it, but not guaranteed.Like was mentioned earlier, or in a previous thread, its fizzling out for me.
I love the group stages and maybe the odd match after that, but im more interested in the golf now.
I picked Argentina to win, but in truth, i couldnt care less who wins it now.The last 2 finals with these 2 were * from what i remember so maybe that has tainted my view.......but i think as great as the Germany Brazil match was, the other semi is a more accurate template for how the final will go!

    Hurry up and finish ffs!

James Rodriquez is 4/1 on paddy power for player of the tournament, great odds on him to win it.

    When is the winner announced?

Reckon if Argentina were to win it, they would give it to Messi.

Yeah.... probably won't watch the third place play-off.

Just looking forward to seeing Messi lift the world cup tomorrow night.

Yes that'll be my reaction when I see all the Germans crying when Messi rips them to pieces. :icon_mrgreen:

I'd like to see it as well but the Germans look a formidable outfit, they look strong in every area, tough task for Argentina.
